★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1UPDATE:I tried their $30 prefix lunch and keep going back. You get salad or soup, pasta, and dessert with coffee—such a good deal.Among their pastas, Japanese-fusion ones are my favorite, especially the Spaghetti con Uova di Pesce (that tobiko and shiso combo is so good). And their gelato? Wow.Best part? It’s quiet and cozy, even on weekdays. No Manhattan rush—just great food and relaxed time with friends.------------------I recently revisited my favorite restaurant, Basta Pasta, and it didn’t disappoint! Since it was a Monday night, the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I enjoyed a delightful meal and wine in their beautiful interior. While their pasta is fantastic, I highly recommend their perfectly grilled lamb chops—absolutely outstanding! I’m also curious to try the chef’s tasting course next time.
April 07 · T Hiroko (Hiroko Sensei)We’ve been coming to Basta Pasta for three decades, this restaurant remains a reliable and creative institution. On this date we made the fortunate decision to order their tasting menu (Omakase) which again confirms their ability to deliver exciting and creative dishes. This is just one reason they remain open and thriving!
June 24 · Gregory Demaras SWFL RealtorGreat Italian restaurant with Japanese spirits. :)Neat and nice atmosphere with good food. $30 price pix menus are great choices. You never gonna be disappointed even if you are Italian. I recommend number 3 from price-fix menus . Rich parmesan cheese with sliced prosciutto.
May 05 · Gene KimRevisiting a decade later and it's just as good as I remembered it to be. Italian pasta with some Japanese inspiration makes for some of the best creations I've ever had. The Reggiano and Parma prosciutto prepared table-side is a must try. The staff here is always friendly and accommodating.
June 04 · Tommy ChenWow! Who knew Basta Pasta did omakase?! I've been a fan of Basta Pasta for their Italian dishes for years, so imagine my surprise and delight when I discovered they were offering an omakase on weekends! Intrigued, I decided to try it, and let me tell you, it was absolutely sublime. Each dish was incredibly fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented. The selection was diverse and showcased a deep understanding of flavor profiles, textures and each bite was a delightful surprise. However I am a dessert person and omakase dessert was a bit of disappointment to end the meal. Hope they can improve that department! Otherwise I would have give 5 stars. If you're looking for a unique Japanese Italian dining experience that blends unexpected creativity with top-notch ingredients, you absolutely must try the omakase here. However, please double-check if they still offer omakase before planning your visit.
