Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken Introduce
### Introduction / Overview
In the bustling landscape of New York City's dining scene, few things are as universally beloved as perfectly cooked fried chicken. When a craving hits, New Yorkers want a place that delivers on all fronts: flavor, quality, and convenience. Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken, located in the vibrant East Village, has established itself as a premier destination for this classic comfort food. What started as a beloved cult-favorite dish on the menu of the original Blue Ribbon Restaurant, created by acclaimed chefs Eric and Bruce Bromberg, has evolved into a dedicated fast-casual eatery. The secret to their success lies in a unique, time-tested recipe that uses a special blend of seasonings and a matzo meal crust, resulting in a perfectly crispy and flavorful chicken that is moist and tender on the inside. This is not your average fast food; it's a gourmet-quality product served with the speed and ease of a modern quick-bite spot. The atmosphere is casual and trendy, making it a great place to sit down with friends, or simply to grab a delicious meal to go. It's a favorite for lunch, dinner, and even late-night bites, attracting a diverse crowd of college students, families, groups, and tourists. The emphasis is on the food, with a straightforward menu that highlights their fried chicken in various forms, from classic pieces and tenders to inventive sandwiches and wings. Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken has successfully merged high-end culinary expertise with the accessibility of a fast food restaurant, creating a winning combination that keeps customers coming back for more.
While many fast food joints focus on speed above all else, Blue Ribbon Fried Chicken maintains a commitment to quality that shines through in every bite. The aroma of freshly prepared chicken is a major draw, with one reviewer noting how it had them "eager to enter the establishment." The menu is intentionally focused, allowing the team to perfect each item. Beyond the chicken, they also offer a selection of smash burgers and sides that are crafted with the same attention to detail. The restaurant’s dedication to providing a full, satisfying meal is evident in their combo options and family dinners, which are perfect for groups or large gatherings. While some customer experiences may vary, particularly with the freshness of sides, the core product—the fried chicken—is consistently praised for being "solid, tender and juicy with the right amount of breading." The fast service and accommodating staff, as highlighted in reviews, also contribute to a positive and efficient dining experience. For a craving that only crispy, delicious fried chicken can satisfy, Blue Ribbon is a reliable and highly-regarded choice for New Yorkers.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Chicken was good, hot and fresh. The fries were an afterthought. Fries must have been cooked and been sitting for some time under a hot lamp because they just weren’t fresh and it was easy to taste.Very little human interaction inside the store, you order at a kiosk. Overall, I would eat the chicken again but instead of fries as a side I’d go with Mac and cheese.
June 11 · Tyrone PierceExperience here was decent but a few misses that couldn't be ignored but I'll get to that gradually. Coming up here, I could easily smell the chicken being prepared from this establishment and it had me eager to enter the establishment. The moment I came in I was greeted by the woman behind the ordering section so service is definitely a high mark for she was very accommodating with me setting up my order.Wait time wasn't overly long, I'd say about 7 minutes it took for my food to reach the table. I ordered the Tender Supreme Combo which came with fries, Cole slaw and a drink and a chicken Smashburger. I went with the chicken burger first and I know these can be an acquired taste but I can safely say I truly acquired how good that burger was. Compliments to the chef. Now onto the combo. The shoestring fries they had, not bad but I've certainly had better and they put a lot of them on my plate, I didn't care much to finish it all. I didn't touch the cole slaw because I've never been a fan of it so that leaves the tenders which were sublime! Just incredible. The sides here maybe average but the chicken is definitely solid, tender and juicy with the right amount of breading, wish I could say the same for the Chipotle Honey dip I chose with it. It wasn't terrible but jt didn't mesh well with the tenders, I prolly should've went with ranch. They also have a selection of their own kinds of fountain drinks. I tried out the creme sods and it was also very good. I've always been a fan of original drinks as opposed to the regular stuff that they easily could've had so the fact they went this extra mile for their drinks is great. As for the place in general, it's pretty big. Not enormous but plenty enough of seating and it wasn't too crowded so I was able to eat in with comfort.
August 18 · Sledge WilliamsI just ordered the 4 pieces meal with fries and honey wasabi sauce. And it was delicious. Definitely the best fried chicken in NYC. I was only able to eat 2.5 pieces for lunch will have the rest later.
August 21 · Julio RodriguezBlue Ribbon Fried Chicken offers a satisfying and flavorful experience for fried chicken lovers. I tried their fried chicken sandwich, and it came in a simple yet eco-friendly container. The sandwich featured a perfectly crispy chicken filet with a juicy interior, tucked into a soft, slightly sweet bun. The seasoning was bold but not overpowering, and the sauce added a creamy, tangy kick that paired well with the crunchy pickles underneath. While the presentation was casual, the taste delivered a gourmet punch. It’s a great spot for a quick, indulgent bite in a relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth trying if you’re craving quality fried chicken.
May 29 · SamiaThis place is nice. I give it a 3 out of 5 stars because the pricing was a little high. The fries could’ve been bigger for $6.50. The buffalo sandwich could’ve had lettuce and tomatoes. I also got the vanilla milkshake with oreos on the top, (extra $1.00 charge) they should’ve crushed the oreos up. Overall this place is pretty good, just a few tweaks needed. I would recommend.
