BONDST Introduce
In a city with an abundance of Japanese dining options, BONDST has solidified its place as a true culinary landmark. Located on the historic and cobblestoned Bond Street, this restaurant is not just a place to eat; it is an institution that has defined modern Japanese cuisine and sophisticated dining in downtown New York for over two decades. Situated within a beautiful, three-story brownstone, BONDST offers a multi-level experience that seamlessly blends a vibrant social scene with an intimate and refined culinary journey. It’s a place where a “see and be seen” crowd mingles with serious food lovers, all drawn by the promise of exceptional food, creative cocktails, and a uniquely stylish atmosphere.
The ambiance at BONDST is meticulously crafted to be both trendy and cozy, providing a chic, upscale, and yet comfortable setting. The restaurant features a ground-floor lounge with its own sushi bar and intimate seating, a lively main-floor dining room, and an elegant second floor, which includes a private tatami room. This multi-level design allows for different vibes within the same venue, catering to various occasions from a romantic date night to a celebratory dinner with a group. The lighting is typically moody and low, adding to the sophisticated and romantic feel. The service is often noted as a key highlight, with staff being not only friendly and attentive but also knowledgeable about the extensive menu and drink pairings. This combination of a well-designed space, top-tier service, and innovative cuisine creates an unparalleled experience.
BONDST is ideally located at 6 Bond Street, New York, NY 10012, in the heart of the NoHo neighborhood. This prime location places it within easy reach of SoHo, Greenwich Village, and the East Village, making it a convenient destination for a pre-theater dinner or a late-night bite. The restaurant's position on a more secluded side street adds to its exclusive, "hidden gem" feel. Accessibility is a key feature of this location. The restaurant is within a short walking distance of several major subway lines, including the B, D, F, M at Broadway-Lafayette Street and the 6 at Bleecker Street. This makes it highly accessible for anyone traveling from different parts of Manhattan and beyond.
For those driving, paid street parking is available, although as is typical for New York City, it may require some searching. The restaurant also offers outdoor seating, which provides an opportunity for a more casual dining experience when the weather is nice. The building itself, a historic brownstone, adds to the neighborhood’s charm and provides a unique architectural backdrop for the dining experience. Its location and multiple floor layout are perfect for accommodating different dining needs and crowd sizes, from a solo diner at the sushi bar to a large group celebrating an event.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1What a find of a place for lunch across the Vessel! I was looking for a quiet place with good food and a view of the Vessel and I sure found it. Not only was the pre-fixed lunch delicious (I ordered Tuna tartar, sushi mix, and ricotta dessert) but the service was impeccable! The host took my luggage to store it while having Lunch. Then, my server Andre took special care of me and celebrated my birthday with a candle with my dessert tray. This made my day so special and memorable. Thank you very much! I hope to return again someday.
July 15 · Miriam SmithWe went on a Thursday evening around 630. As the night progressed, it got more and more crowded and the music got louder than when we first arrived. If you prefer a place where you could hear yourself, this is not the place to be on a Thursday night. We shared 4 items and each had 2 drinks. While we didn't walk out feeling hungry or unsatisfied, I feel I might have gotten more elsewhere for the same price. However, as they say, it's the company that makes it fun. The service was good and we had a good time.
June 28 · Cindy LHad a nice time here last night. Service was awesome. Food was good overall, but didn't love the mushroom rice. Torro was nice. One weird thing, when we asked the Maitre'd's helper if we could get a table on the main floor, he was very weird about it and sort of pushed back. Didn't seem to want to even ask the Maitre'd about it. I thought it was a pretty normal request given the stairs were closed and we'd have to take an elevator upstairs.
June 19 · Hal DoueckMy boyfriend and I just moved to NYC and we got recommended BondSt by a friend. We pass by on a Friday to see if maybe we could snag some seats at the bar since we didnt have a reservation and Im honestly glad they didnt have any seating. Tom served us at the bar and was absolutely the most delightful person I think Ive ever come across. He was super attentive, gave us great meal recommendations, and more.I dont typically write reviews but Tom’s hospitality really went above and beyond all expectations. If you come here, sit at the bar and ask for Tom! You wont regret itAlso get the short rib and red snapper tacos>>>
August 01 · AVB FitnessUpscale atmosphere for quality sushi, my friend and I enjoyed the crispy rice and oysters. They have a creative and delicious cocktail menu and amazing service - the sushi chefs cheer at you as you leave and are very welcoming.
