The star of the show at Cafe Himalaya is undoubtedly the momo, the famous Tibetan dumpling. These savory parcels are available with various fillings, including beef and vegetarian options, and can be enjoyed steamed or fried. The Sha Momo (beef) and Tsel Momo (vegetarian) are incredibly popular, and for good reason. They are juicy, perfectly seasoned, and served with a flavorful sauce that complements them perfectly. A single bite of these dumplings is enough to understand why they are a highlight for so many diners.
Beyond the momos, the menu offers a wide array of other traditional dishes. The soups, such as the Thang Soup and Teyma Thang Soup, are perfect for a chilly day, filled with aromatic broths and fresh ingredients. The entrees are robust and satisfying, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. For plant-based diners, the Tsel Khowa and Spicy Butternut Squash are fantastic choices, showcasing the incredible depth of flavor that can be achieved with vegetables. Meat lovers will appreciate dishes like the Chili Chicken and Shapta, a stir-fried beef dish with peppers and onions.
Cafe Himalaya also boasts a fantastic beverage program, with a highlight being their extensive tea selection. You can find everything from a comforting Homemade Darjeeling Tea with Milk to the more adventurous Bocha Tibetan Tea, which is made with salt, butter, and milk, offering a truly authentic taste of the Himalayas. For something cold and refreshing, the Mango Lassi and a variety of flavorful smoothies are also available. This great tea and beverage selection makes the restaurant a perfect stop for a quick bite and a drink, even if you're not planning on a full meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My friends and enjoyed the experience and food which was fast, informative and tasty. Our favorite was steamed beef mono dumplings. Honestly all of the beverages are incredibly tasty, we got both versions of lasso, Thai tea, Himalayan tea (very acquired taste reminding us of popcorn). The food was tasty, amazing prices. They add 4% service fee for a card use so that's something to keep on mind. Though I had a great experience!
August 04 · Veronika FurbergerovaFantastic food, so glad I went here over Katz cause that line looked crazy. The chili sauce had a much fresher flavor than normal chili oil and the curry chicken and rice was phenomenal, very unique in its own way. The soup, I cant even remember but ill remember it forever all the same. Crazy right? Definitely worth the trip.
August 09 · Eero “Komodo30000” MauermanThis place is so close to my heart! Outstanding food, the warmest staff, and great homely vibes all around. Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu but their dumplings and thukpa are my personal favorites! Oh and their hot sauce is SO GOOD
May 09 · Aishwarya MahulikarCame here for the dumplings. And they did not disappoint! The place feels like what an authentic restaurant would be like but I’ve never been to Nepal and it’s my first time having Nepalese food. We got ours pan fried - check the photo. They are also available steamed. I’m a connoisseur of dumplings - and i will certainly be back to try more things. And you should come here too! Just note there is no air conditioning in there so it might be hot and a bit crowded.Whatever - you didnt come here for air conditioning you came for some good food!
May 17 · JeffExcellent small Tibetan restaurant with warm staff. We really enjoyed our meal and the lassis. I will come back for sure !!!
