China Xiang is one of the best Chinese restaurants I've been to in NYC. They offer Hunan cuisine, which is less common than other types of Chinese cuisine. It is also known as Xiang cuisine, hence the name China Xiang.This type of food is characterized by its dry spicy flavour and also cured/smoked ingredients. Unfortunately, one of my friends who I went with doesn't have a high spice tolerance, so we did not order that many spicy dishes. It was still an incredible meal. But I need to pay another visit to experience the true flavours.

Duck fried rice was good but all the stir fries skewed towards the saltier side.Tomato with fatty beef was great, a little pricy but it had a lot of content inside and was very tomato-y. The soup itself was savory but a bit salty.Cabbage was salty and so were all the pork dishes.Mapo tofu was not good in our opinion, felt watered down.Shanghai stir fried noodles had good texture but the flavor profile was average.Recommend getting the dishes with plain rice to balance out the heavier flavors

It was late at night and this place was open. We have to order quickly because the kitchen was almost closing. We ordered and the food was really good with all the flavours. And the price really fair.

Delicious and authentic and they let us stay there a little longer after we finished. We got the hunan rice noodles with the sour string beans and minced meat, salted egg yolk jumbo shrimp, oxtongue with tripe. Service was great.

I was craving a fresh and satisfying meal before my departure, and this restaurant delivered phenomenally. The food is exceptional, and the location is incredibly convenient. Five stars.
