What is worth choosing:
Chunky Boss stands out in a crowded market for several compelling reasons. The most significant is the quality and sheer size of its signature chicken cutlet. In a city where portion sizes can sometimes be modest, the cutlet from Chunky Boss is consistently praised for being substantial and filling, often enough for two sittings, as one customer noted. This value proposition is a major draw for both locals on a budget and tourists looking for a hearty meal. The fried chicken itself is expertly prepared, with a flavor profile that is both authentic and incredibly satisfying. The meat is consistently moist and tender on the inside, a testament to proper cooking techniques, while the skin provides the perfect amount of crunch. The Sweet Chili Cutlet is a particular highlight, offering a delightful balance of flavors that are not overly spicy or sweet. The integration of the business with Tiger Sugar is another key selling point. The ability to grab a delicious boba tea to complement the savory, fried meal is a unique and highly appealing feature that few other places can offer. The menu, while concise, is well-thought-out, providing popular combos that make ordering simple and efficient. For a quick lunch, a casual dinner, or just a fulfilling snack, Chunky Boss provides a reliable and high-quality option that is a true taste of Taiwanese street food culture right here in New York City. The friendly and professional service, combined with the quick cooking time (typically 10-15 minutes), ensures that even during peak hours, you won't have to wait long for a freshly prepared, delicious meal.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The Taiwanese fried chicken at Chunky Boss is very delicious and filling. The Sweet Chili Chicken Cutlet is a massive piece of meat that can be eaten in two sittings. The meat inside is tender and the skin is crunchy. The sweet chili is not spicy and not too sweet, but it is very sticky, so the wrap it comes in is very helpful.Since this shop is also paired with a Tiger Sugar, you can pair your chicken with boba and fries. There is stool seating that can accommodate about 6 or 8 people in the small space.
July 08 · Chanel Brown-Legon (Chanel)This Chunky Boss is a small store that shares it's space with Tiger Sugar. Inside the store there are only few stools to sit and dine. The menu has the cutlets and popcorns, and combos for those come with fries. Some of the flavors I wanted to order were not available at that time. After ordering, it took them about 10-15 minutes cook the chicken. I was so surprised how huge the piece of cutlet was, almost had never seen a piece chicken that large. The chicken had such a pleasant flavor. It was moist and soft inside. Fries tasted average.
March 10 · Nehal AhmedFantastic customer service and an absolutely incredible classic pepper chicken cutlet! It was Huge, perfectly crispy, and juicy! Highly recommend! For, 10 bucks, I found it a bit pricey, but I guess that's standard NY prices.
March 17 · Cody GaholThe chicken strips with spicy power were delicious! I don’t know what they put on their fries but they were phenomenal! The service was great and the tea I got with my combo meal was great! It is a small location with minimal seating, but so worth it!
May 09 · Justin DavidsonGreat for a quick snack on the go! The crispy chicken cutlet is huge (in the pic I’d already eaten half of it and it still almost filled the bag) but not super greasy, so it’s great for a crunchy salty craving when you’re traveling. I got the plum flavor and it was the perfect sweet and salty balanceBoba is cooked to perfection, and the staff was very nice despite being busy before closing.I also got the cream puffs, a little underwhelming compared to how good the chicken was but they aren’t known for the desserts. Signature flavor was definitely my favorite. They are very delicate so make sure to ask for napkins!
