It’s a like a savory french onion soup pie: cheesy, sweet from the caramelized onions and has a buttery flaky crust.Their cocktails and DESSERTS were also phenomenal. We got the basque cheesecake that was incredibly creamy and smooth and was served with dried apricots and this crunchy crumble. The perfect mixture of fruity sweet flavors and interesting textures.We also got their gem salad (light, refreshing) and their pork milanese (though we must come back to try their pastas!).
August 21 · NatalieFantastic Italian restaurant in Hudson Yards. Ci Siamo is all parts Italian, with a modern unique spin. The wine list, too, is unique and full of interesting hidden gems. And when in doubt if you’re not sure, they have a Somm on hand who is super helpful. For the food, we cannot recommend the caramelized onion torta enough. It’s gooey, savory and sweet all in one. The focaccia is light and airy with a side of tomato conserva (like a tomato paste), and great for dipping in the sauces of other dishes. Gnocco fritto with ghost cheese are large crispy pillows - not much to them and can be skipped for better options. The summer beans were blistered green beans in this amazing sauce. Yes, they’re a side. Yes, get them. Same goes for the smoked carrots. I don’t like cooked carrots and these were to die for. For pastas, the rigatoni alla gricia is AMAZING - the guanciale is perfectly crispy, and perfectly cuts through the cacio e pepe like sauce. If you want to go more decadent, the stracci (think wide like lasagna but thin and flat) with rabbit and Parmesan is *chef’s kiss*. The grilled ribeye was interesting to be covered in marinated peppers but brought a good flavor. It was rough to leave so much of the dish beyond that was just pure fat. All in all would come back and try the other many dishes and throw some cocktails into the mix.
August 10 · Natalie CaldwellWe initially made a reservation for 4 but the hostess was super accommodating and let us add another person last minute, which I greatly appreciated. The seating arrangement was just a 4 person table with 3 people on one side instead of 2, but nothing wrong with that and we were very happy our additional friend could join.The problem starts when I discover a large piece of plastic buried in the middle of my braised lamb entree after eating a couple of bites. The piece was the size of half a business card and I was so shocked that I didn't even think to take a picture and flagged our waitress immediately. She immediately took my entree and replaced it with another one, but the situation kind of ruined the mood of the whole table. A man in a suit, who I believe was the manager of the restaurant named Vinny, briefly came over to say sorry but it came off as insincere and he never checked on us again. I also want to make clear that the entree was not comped nor did we receive any compensation for this unsanitary situation.Furthermore, we were celebrating two birthdays on the actual day and I noted that in my reservation. The table next to us was also celebrating some occasion and they got a candle with their dessert, but no one wished my friends happy birthday nor did we receive any special gesture like they did, which was also disappointing.Lastly, I do want to acknowledge that the food was delicious and met my expectations going in after hearing this is Ophra's favorite restaurant. The whole party enjoyed the appetizers (onion torta and focaccia) and their own entrees. Flavors are wonderful here, just wish the service was on par with how beautiful of a restaurant it is.

The food is delicious and the interior is beautiful, but service can be slow and prices are high enough that you really have to be careful, even on a business budget. We also wish they would rotate the menu more and many from my firm would come more often, but we get tired of the same dishes.So you’ll eat great food and have a great experience, but don’t expect to get fast service or be able to order all you want from the menu.
July 24 · Jessica L. RollénVisiting from San Francisco & needed a great dining experience to celebrate my sister’s birthday. The reviews seemed good, so we came here! Note that you will need to take the stairs or elevator in order to get to the restaurant. Once we arrived, we were seated immediately & the host left a postcard with a sweet “Happy Birthday” message on the table for my sister - it was a very nice addition. Our waiter was great & mostly timely with taking orders. I will say, the vibe is immaculate - loud, energetic & fun. If you prefer a quiet environment, this is not the spot.Coming from SF, we were shocked at how decent the portions were for the prices. We’re used to paying big for skimpy meals and this spot did NOT disappoint. The focaccia was heavenly, the seafood fresh, the pasta delectable, and the braised lamb delightful. We ended the night with a tasty dessert, candle included! We truly enjoyed our time at Ci Siamo.
