---When considering what is worth choosing about Desi Indo-Chinese, the most important factor to highlight is its food, which, as customer reviews suggest, offers a tale of two cuisines. The restaurant shines brightly in its traditional Indian offerings. A customer who was initially hesitant to try the place was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, noting that the Chana Saag, eggplant, and okra were all perfectly prepared—flavorful, but not overly oily or salty. This positive feedback on the core Indian dishes is a strong indicator of the kitchen’s capability and dedication to authentic flavors.
While a single negative review pointed out that some of the Indo-Chinese dishes were not up to par, this is not a reason to dismiss the restaurant entirely. Instead, it serves as a helpful guide for future diners. It suggests that focusing on the traditional Indian menu, especially the vegetarian options, is a safe and rewarding bet. Dishes like the variety of Biryanis (including Chicken, Lamb, and Vegetable Biryani), the Tandoori offerings like Lamb Chop and Tandoori Salmon, and the array of curries (from Tikka Masala to Vindaloo) are likely to be prepared with the same care and expertise that garnered positive feedback for the vegetable dishes.
Choosing Desi Indo-Chinese is about embracing its strengths: a wide-ranging menu, a comfortable and casual setting, and a commitment to providing excellent value for a satisfying meal. For anyone in the New York area looking for a reliable spot for flavorful, home-style Indian food, this restaurant is a solid choice. The convenience of all its service options, from dine-in to no-contact delivery, makes it a perfect fit for a variety of dining needs. It's a place that rewards those who give it a chance, promising a filling and delicious experience that feels authentic and comforting.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Pathetic indo Chinese food, ordered paneer chilly and gobi manchurian, both has same gravy which is unlike any other manchurian gravy. Paneer tastes like rubber must be old and gone bad.
June 28 · Tarun SinghI was pleasantly surprised by the food. Although no vegan options were listed, I asked for 3 dishes I knew could easily be made vegan.Ordered the chana saag, eggplant, and okra. 10/10 on all three! None were overly oily or salted - they were just right.I’ll admit I’ve walked past this place many times because based on looks alone. I’ve never seen many people go in or out, and the inside isn’t impressiveGlad I tried this place. I definitely won’t hesitate to order from here again.
June 17 · Sandy PService was pathetic. When we walked into the restaurant nobody was at the counter. Had to call the restaurant while at the table to get menus and the bill. The guy that showed up seemed friendly but then disappeared again. The AC was turned off and there was no music playing so the ambience wasn't great at all. While we were waiting for the food, another person walked into the restaurant to order but couldn't find the person at the counter so I told her that she would have to call the restaurant number. She said she'd wait but eventually got tired of waiting and just left without getting any service. When the food arrived it wasn't really bad at all but the service and experience killed the mood.
September 09 · Akshay SharmaOrdered the veggie samosas. I always wanted to try them and finally did. They were very delicious. They gave me two nice big pieces for $4.34. I would definitely order them again. Next time I’m going to try the chicken ones 😌☺️
October 07 · Candice ForteThey always mess up the order. And I mean it, the items are wrong! Rice/noodles - it’s all the same to them. Placing an order for delivery or picking up in person, it’s always wrong. I asked for them to deliver the correct items, they refused. Don’t go there if you don’t have the patience for them to do, re-do, again re-do your order. Zero points for taste too! 🤮🤢They serve bad kheer. It tasted sour cause it had gone bad and smelt disgusting too. Again, no refund or replacement given by the restaurant. Waste of money.
