Located on the second floor of a building in the heart of Korean Town, Dookki offers a dedicated and authentic experience centered around Korean rice cakes. This restaurant has garnered a reputation as one of the best spots for Tteokbokki, attracting both seasoned fans of the dish and newcomers eager to try its comforting and chewy texture. Unlike many other Korean restaurants that offer a broad menu, Dookki's specialization allows it to focus on perfecting its main offering, ensuring a high-quality meal every time.
Dookki provides a unique dining experience where you can either choose a classic, pre-designed Tteokbokki or take control and customize your own. This interactive approach is a major part of the restaurant's appeal, allowing diners to tailor their meal to their exact preferences, whether they prefer a sweeter or spicier sauce. The atmosphere is casual and focused on the food, with the staff preparing the dishes right in front of you. This transparency in the cooking process adds to the authenticity and trust in the quality of the food. Customers have praised the rice cakes for being consistently soft and chewy, a key characteristic of a great Tteokbokki.
While some might find the sauce to be on the sweeter side or wish for a bit more spice, as one reviewer noted, this characteristic often makes it more appealing to a broader audience who might not be able to handle intense heat. The generous portion sizes are also a significant highlight, with a single serving being more than enough to fill you up. This value, combined with the quality of the food, makes Dookki a recommended spot for anyone in the city looking for a satisfying and delicious Korean meal. It’s a place that is proud of its specialization, and it shows in every bite of its beloved Tteokbokki.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I love the Korean rice cakes so much, and Dookki is one of the best Tteobboki in Korea town. You can choose classic ones or customize yourselves. Delicious and I recommend!
August 16 · wen wenI’ve had my fair share of tteokbokki. I am saddened that the downstairs one in food gallery is no longer available, but I wanted to give this one a shot. I got their classic tteokbokki which was actually good.I did wish it was a bit more thicker in sauce and the rice cake had more time to marinate in the sauce itself. However, they make it on the spot and you can see the staff cook it. Rice cakes were soft and chewy. I loved the additional add ons. The sauce itself isn’t spicy, perhaps a bit more sweeter. I personally believed that it was not quite a genuine classic tteokbokki, it lacked spice and the balance may have been slightly off. Reminded me more of a “Rose Tteokbokki”, but It was delicious nonetheless. They give you a good portion and could easily fill you up.I’m sure this sauce would be preferred by the majority of people who are unable to tolerate spice.
July 17 · MelodyThe portion is very small for what you pay for. $15 for tiny amount of rice cakes. It tastes good but definitely not worth the price. The container is not even half full.
August 23 · Maftuna MOrdered the Rose Tteokbokki. First time having Cheese Wheat tteok (like cheesy gnocchi) and Flat Tteok. I love how the ingredients feel balanced. Not too much of anything, and just enough of everything. And the flavor is so good. Perfect addition to the Ktown Food Court. Was having the worst day at the office and this dish was so healing.
