Based on customer reviews, the food at El Tacoriendo is the main event and a definite highlight. One detailed review, which awarded the restaurant five stars, raved about the tacos, calling it a "4/4 taco win." The reviewer praised specific taco proteins, noting the asada as "tender and smoky," the suadero as "juicy and rich without being greasy," the cecina as "salty-savory in the best way," and the barbacoa as "soft, shredded, and perfect with a squeeze of lime." They also appreciated the fresh toppings, including cilantro, onion, and grilled onions, as well as the accompanying red and green salsas. A significant point of praise was the generous portion sizes, with the reviewer stating that just two tacos were enough to fill them up. Another key feature that stood out to the reviewer was the diverse menu, which includes unique proteins like beef tongue (lengua), tripe, and buche, appealing to those with an adventurous palate. This variety, and the commitment to authentic ingredients, is what sets El Tacoriendo apart from more common Tex-Mex establishments. However, it is important to note a different perspective from another review. A customer mentioned that they "used to love this restaurant" but felt that the food "just isn't that same," suggesting a possible change in management or quality. This feedback is valuable for a local perspective, as it shows that experiences can vary and that the restaurant may have had some inconsistencies over time. Despite this, the more recent and detailed review suggests that the food is currently high-quality and a true delight. The menu is extensive, offering not only tacos but also breakfast items (desayunos), seafood (mariscos), and traditional platters (platillos), ensuring there is something for everyone, whether you are a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine or a first-time visitor. The freshness of the ingredients and the authenticity of the recipes are what truly make the food a standout feature.
The atmosphere and appearance of El Tacoriendo are also important to consider, as highlighted by a customer review. The exterior of the building on Refugee Road might not immediately stand out, with one reviewer describing it as the kind of place you might "second-guess after dark." However, they stressed the importance of not judging the restaurant by its outside appearance, urging others to "trust me" and assuring them that the food is worth it. Once inside, the experience is described as a pleasant surprise. The interior "feels relaxed and colorful," with "painted chairs, bright walls, and no pressure," creating a comfortable and welcoming environment. This vibrant and casual setting is a major highlight, as it allows diners to focus on the delicious food without any pretension. It's a place where you can come as you are and enjoy a great meal. This kind of unpretentious atmosphere is often what locals look for in a go-to spot, a place that feels genuine and focused on what truly matters: the food. The reviews also suggest that the restaurant is a place for community, a spot that's "easy to love" and where people feel comfortable sharing their experiences and recommendations. The ambiance perfectly complements the authentic nature of the food, creating a cohesive and satisfying dining experience. The fact that the reviewer felt so strongly about the interior's positive feel is a testament to the restaurant's ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable space for its customers, making it a great place to bring family and friends for a fun and delicious meal.

El Tacoriendo Reviews
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️El Tacoriendo – Columbus, OHTacoriendoEver have a dinner plan fall through, only to find something even better by accident? That’s exactly how I ended up here. My go-to Thai place was closed (my heart was set on pork belly fried rice), so I pivoted—and honestly, I’m glad I did. This was only my second time at El Tacoriendo, and it was a 4/4 taco win.I tried:🌮 Asada – tender and smoky, almost buttery in a warm corn tortilla🌮 Suadero – juicy and rich without being greasy🌮 Cecina – salty-savory in the best way🌮 Barbacoa – soft, shredded, and perfect with a squeeze of limeEverything came loaded with fresh cilantro, onion, grilled onions, and crisp cucumber slices on the side. The green salsa was mellow, the red had a little kick, but honestly, the meat didn’t need any help.Even after not eating all day, two tacos filled me up—these portions are no joke. The menu has so many proteins you don’t see everywhere: beef tongue, tripe, buche, chorizo. After today, I’m open to trying all the unique ones next time. If you’re the adventurous type, this is your playground.🚨 Outside the building looks like the kind of spot you'd second-guess after dark--like pulling up to a Linden carryout when the streetlights flicker--but trust me, If you judge a taco by the tortilla (and honestly, you should), this place is worth checking out.Inside feels relaxed and colorful—painted chairs, bright walls, and no pressure. You’re just here to eat good food.I’d bring y’all with me if I could—because this is the kind of spot that’s easy to love.💬 What’s the most unique taco filling you’ve tried? Or which one would you pick first? Drop your favorites below!🌮 5/5 – Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe a little curious about what you’ll order next.
Aug 03, 2025 · Let Jess Tell ItI really use to love this restaurant. It seems like it’s under a new management from a year ago or something. The food just isn’t that same. I hope they pay attention to the reviews and make the necessary changes.
Jul 05, 2025 · Keeya JThis was my first visit. I ordered the Cubana Torta, Large Guacamole, and the Grilled Chicken Fajitas De Pollo. Both were amazing.Unlike some Tortas I've had recently where it seemed thrown together, this one was constructed with love. You can tell by the depth of flavors and how each ingredient in the Torta presented itself both individually and as part of the flavor explosion one expects with a Torta. My wife loved the Fajitas. She said it's some of the best Fajitas she's had in awhile. That's high praise she does not give often.I will be going back. I didn't know they had indoor dining until I went inside to place my carryout order. I will be back! Please be patient as it takes time to cook the meal. My wait was more than worth it (less than 10 minutes). 5 stars
Jul 26, 2025 · C FWe ordered the chilaquiles with chicken the chilaquiles sauce was super salty. The French fries were salty, where you can see the amount of salt they added on. Also, the service was not great. We got there and didn't feel welcomed no hello or guidance on where to sit, they basically said sit anywhere, which is okay. But took a while to give us service. When I asked the waitress about the menu items she was very unsure of what the menu items had. The steak tacos were okay, however there were several peices of fat instead of actual steak. The biggest let down and disappointment was the chips and salsa, the salsa was straight up Herdez canned salsa all they did was add cilantro and onions- this is supposed to be mexican food what is this. Lol. I couldn't believe it. The margarita was premixed, like the one you find at the store, all they did was pour it over ice. I do not recommend this place, food was below average, salsa was store brought, service was lack luster they're not even trying. We ended up spending about $68 on the food, which was a huge disappointment.
