This isn't just another sandwich shop; it's a destination that aims to elevate familiar favorites with a fresh and creative approach. While the name suggests a singular focus on cheesesteaks, G's has become equally, if not more, famous for other standout menu items, surprising many first-time visitors. The atmosphere is consistently described as casual with a "great vibe," making it a perfect spot for a quick lunch, a relaxed dinner, or a late-night bite. The customer service is noted as "as professional as it gets," ensuring a welcoming and pleasant experience from the moment you walk in. The menu at G’s Cheesesteaks is a testament to its creative spirit. While "The Classic" cheesesteak is a staple, G’s ventures into unique territory with options like the "Truffle Wiz Wit" and the new "Onion Marmalade Steak." However, it's some of the non-cheesesteak items that have truly captured the hearts (and taste buds) of many patrons. The "Vodka Burrata" chicken cutlet sandwich, in particular, is a menu highlight that has received phenomenal reviews, described as "absolutely phenomenal, possibly the best chicken cutlet sandwich we’ve ever had." Another fan favorite is the "Cheesesteak Eggrolls," which one reviewer called "through the roof delicious." This willingness to experiment with flavors and concepts is what makes G’s a dynamic and exciting place to eat. The menu is also extensive, offering a variety of appetizers, burgers, wings, and milkshakes, ensuring there's something to satisfy every craving. Their commitment to accessibility is evident in their wheelchair-accessible seating, and their service options, which include dine-in, takeout, and no-contact delivery, provide maximum convenience for the busy New Yorker.

---While G’s Cheesesteaks positions itself as a destination for the classic Philly sandwich, the consensus among many customers suggests that some of its other offerings are the real stars of the show. One of the most highly praised items is the "Vodka Burrata" chicken cutlet sandwich. A reviewer called it "absolutely phenomenal" and possibly the "best chicken cutlet sandwich we’ve ever had," noting its perfect blend of subtly sweet vodka sauce, creamy burrata, and a perfectly crunchy yet soft seeded roll. This endorsement, which sets a "very high bar," is a compelling reason to visit G’s, even if you’re not a traditional cheesesteak purist. Another must-try item is the "Cheesesteak Eggrolls," which have been called "through the roof delicious" by a customer who was otherwise underwhelmed by the main cheesesteak. The fries and onion rings are also praised as "pretty damn tasty" and "decent," respectively, making the side dishes a crucial part of the meal.
It's important to set expectations, as some reviews suggest the namesake cheesesteaks can be "underwhelming" and "borderline bland" compared to the sensational cutlets and appetizers. However, many other reviews state that G's cheesesteak is truly "the best cheesesteak I've had in NYC!!" and "up there with the better ones from Philly." This shows that personal preference plays a big role in what people enjoy, and with a menu full of unique twists, there's always something new to try. The atmosphere and professionalism of the staff are also a major draw, creating a "great vibe" that makes a visit enjoyable regardless of the specific food ordered. The presence of unique new items on the menu, like the "Onion Marmalade Steak" and "Bacon Jam Burger," also shows a commitment to innovation that keeps customers coming back. In the end, what is worth choosing at G’s Cheesesteaks is not just a single item, but the full experience of exploring a menu that is full of delightful surprises and comforting classics, all served up with a fast and friendly attitude.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The vodka burrata was absolutely phenomenal, possibly the best chicken cutlet sandwich we’ve ever had. The vodka sauce had a subtle sweetness that paired perfectly with the creamy burrata. The bread added crunchiness on the outside, yet was soft on the inside. The cheesesteak, on the other hand, felt underwhelming in comparison and was borderline bland. To be fair though, the chicken cutlet vodka set a very high bar to follow.Although this spot is cheesesteak first based on its name, I would definitely recommend the Vodka Burrata as it is clearly the highlight of the menu.
August 23 · JonathanThis place has a lot FLUFF behind it. But it didn't live up to ANY of it for me. I walked into thus place super charged ready to get my eat on. Especially after all the hype from others. Funny thing is what I enjoyed more was the extra stuff I ordered not the thing there known for.....Cheesesteaks. I loved the atmosphere in this place great vibe. They're customer service....as professional as it gets. But when it comes to the food....Houston ....we have a problem. A big one. They sell these cheesesteak egg rolls that are through roof delicious. There fries were pretty damn tasty.....the onion rings were decent. But again my problem....is the cheesesteak....I ordered what sounded like a delicious cheesesteak.... but that turned to be disastrous. It was indeed one of the worst sandwiches I've ever eaten. I think it's clear to say that as good as the side dishes were that accompanied my sandwich... I will NOT be making a return trip to G's. Thank you but no thank you.
April 21 · ELLERBYOrdered a classic that comes with Cooper Sharp Cheddar cheese, onions of course and cheese whiz. Very delicious!!!!!! Those combinations will have you wanting more lol. Try it out and enjoy, I will definitely be making another journey to this location. Customer service bug plus as well. Thank you.
July 29 · Santiago StichelCheesesteak was good. A good mixed of cheese and meat mixed to together. My only complaint was I tasted more bread then I did meat after every bite... A little more meat to each sandwich will be perfect. I recommend G's if your in the area...not a far walk from Tompkins Park
April 21 · Cornell RajahI usually get a sandwich and a side.I was expecting smaller cheesesteaks that were fine taste wise. But not only were they actually bigger than I expected, they tasted way better than I thought they would. The wings were average. I had already overate at this point. A cheesesteak and fries. 10 wings were a bit much after.I wasn't expecting the cheesesteak eggrolls to be so delicious. It's my favorite thing after the cheesesteaks. I went in thinking it would suck. The onion rings and fries are good. The smash burger fries were not really an improvement. I had it a few times to make sure. But if you just want a burger patty too, go for it. The basic smashburger is alright. It is not warm enough inside during the winter. Even if no one comes through the door for a while, you still feel a slight cold breeze on your legs. The bathroom is clean.
