What is worth choosing at Harlem Chicken Burger & Fries?
For New Yorkers looking for a fantastic, no-frills meal that delivers on both taste and value, Harlem Chicken Burger & Fries is a definite choice. What is most worth choosing is the fried chicken, which, as an Italian food critic noted, is a standout for its crunchy texture and juicy interior. The incredible value of the 4-piece special is a deal that is hard to beat anywhere in the city. The halal platters are another strong contender, with the combo over rice being a particularly popular and satisfying option that offers great value for money. While the pink lemonade might have a slight plastic-petrol aftertaste according to one review, it's a minor detail in a consistently positive dining experience. The cleanliness of the restaurant and the friendly, though perhaps not perfectly English-speaking, staff contribute to a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. This is not a fine-dining destination, and it doesn’t pretend to be. It’s a great everyday bite, a reliable spot for a quick, delicious, and affordable meal. Its "great everyday bite" reputation is exactly what makes it a local institution and a place you'll want to return to whenever you're in the area. The combination of great value, tasty food, and a commitment to being a clean and welcoming halal spot makes Harlem Chicken Burger & Fries a true gem in the heart of Harlem.

Harlem Chicken Burger & Fries Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I stopped by Harlem Chicken Burger & Fries and had the 4-piece special (two wings and two thighs) for just $4.99, excellent value! The batter was crunchy and golden brown with a nice hint of paprika, and the chicken itself was juicy and full of flavor. I also appreciated that it’s a halal spot, which is a definite plus. I also had a fresh salad with cucumbers, carrots, and purple cabbage which was simple but crisp, healthy and satisfying. I opted for a pink lemonade for a drink which tasted a little plastic-petrol infused but drinkable anyway. Prices are very affordable, making it a good place for a quick break or takeout. The place is very clean even though if it’s small (only 4 tables to sit in but when I was there it wasn’t too crowded) and ultimately the staff doesn’t speak English very well but that’s not a problem. I’m Italian and I hold food to high standards, so I’m giving 4 stars, not because anything was wrong, but because it’s more of a great everyday bite than a standout destination. Still, I’ll absolutely stop by again when I’m in the area!
June 17 · Ivan OttavianI was drawn in by the signs advertising sub-$10 halal platters as I’m a sucker for those. Combo over rice for eight bucks was a solid deal - even better than Kennedy Chicken further down the road on 125th. The quality is about the same between the two spots, in my opinion. Restaurant interior was quite nice too. I’ll have to come back and try the fried chicken.
May 13 · CainRun-of-the-mill chicken 🍗 parts, not spectacular but not bad either (crispy!). Thought it'd be different than Kennedy FC, but they even use the same boxes 🎁. I should've gone a few steps farther & a few cents more to Charles' Pan-Fried, but hey, lesson learned.

August 13 · Oliver OlieBest fried chicken I've ever had. The burger was okay.
