HaSalon Introduce
In a city celebrated for its diverse and innovative dining scene, there are places that go beyond simply serving a meal. HaSalon in New York is one of those places. Described as an experience rather than just a dinner, this upscale and trendy restaurant in Hell's Kitchen has made a name for itself with its unique, high-energy atmosphere and spectacular food. It's the kind of spot you choose for a special occasion—a birthday, a celebration, or a memorable night out—where the food is just the beginning of the fun. This guide will provide a comprehensive look at what makes HaSalon a must-visit destination for those in search of a dining adventure that is as much about the party as it is about the plate.
HaSalon is not your typical quiet, romantic restaurant. It's a place where the atmosphere is as much a part of the menu as the dishes themselves. The vibe is described as a "party atmosphere," with patrons and staff creating a collective energy that can include dancing on tables, throwing napkins in the air, and even smashing plates. While this might not be for everyone, it is the curated environment that makes HaSalon a unique and celebrated New York spot. It attracts a crowd of groups and those looking for a celebratory night. The service is often highlighted as being impeccable and attentive, with staff ensuring a seamless flow of food and drinks, even amidst the lively chaos. The space is cozy yet upscale, and every detail, from the decor to the lighting, is designed to create a vibrant and memorable experience. It’s a dinner that you will talk about long after the last dish is cleared.
The culinary philosophy at HaSalon is centered around creating dishes that are as spectacular as the atmosphere. The menu, which can include small plates and large entrees, is designed to be shared and savored. The food is celebrated for its amazing quality, with each dish being "so good" that patrons rave about them. From a simple mushroom steak to an intricate **Giant King Crab Arm**, the kitchen's approach is to deliver exceptional flavor and presentation. The ingredients are treated with care, and the dishes often have a story behind them, like the **Barbunia** which is treated as a special piece of fish. The kitchen's approach is to provide high-quality food that is well worth the price, creating a true "culinary experience."
---HaSalon is located at 735 10th Ave, New York, NY 10019, nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen. This area is easily accessible by various public transportation options, and its proximity to the Theater District makes it a convenient spot for a pre-theater dinner, though given the party atmosphere, it's more suited for a full night out. For those who choose to drive, paid street parking is available in the vicinity, but as with many busy areas of Manhattan, it’s best to plan accordingly.
The restaurant is committed to providing a welcoming and accessible environment for all of its guests. It features a wheelchair-accessible entrance, restroom, and seating, ensuring that people with mobility needs can comfortably enjoy the dining experience. The upscale and cozy atmosphere is a key part of the dining adventure, making it a destination in itself. However, it's important for visitors to know that this isn't a quiet, intimate spot. The energy is high, and the environment is participatory, which is a key part of the experience. The fact that it is an upscale restaurant that maintains an energetic and lively atmosphere is a unique feature that sets it apart from many of its peers in the city.
---Dine-in Only: HaSalon offers an exclusive dine-in experience. There are no takeout or delivery options, as the restaurant's focus is on providing a comprehensive, in-house dining and entertainment experience. This approach ensures that every aspect of the meal, from the service to the atmosphere, is curated for the patron's enjoyment.
Dinner and Dessert: The restaurant's primary focus is on dinner service, with a menu that includes a variety of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. The dessert menu, which is known as the **Sugar Table**, offers unique options like **Mousse Au Chocolat** and **Summer Nights In Beirut** to round out the meal. They also serve late-night food to accommodate their patrons who stay for the party.
Reservations Required: Due to its high demand and unique concept, reservations are a must. The restaurant strongly recommends making dinner reservations in advance, and some reviews suggest that they are required. This service is crucial for a special occasion and ensures that you can plan your night out without a long wait.
Table Service: HaSalon provides high-quality table service, with attentive and personable staff who are there to cater to your every need. The service is described as being "spectacular," with staff members being quick to respond to requests, such as refilling glasses of bubbly, as noted in a customer review. This high level of service adds to the overall value and experience.
High-Energy Party Atmosphere: The most significant highlight of HaSalon is its unique, high-energy environment. After 10:45 PM, the restaurant transforms into a party, with dancing, music, and an overall celebratory mood. This is what makes it a perfect choice for special occasions like bachelorette parties or birthdays.
Exceptional Food Quality: The food is consistently praised for being "amazing" and "so good." Each dish is a testament to the kitchen's skill and creativity. The menu changes regularly, but staples like the **Mushroom Steak** and **lemon gnocchi** (as mentioned in a review) are known for their spectacular flavor.
Great Cocktails and Wine List: HaSalon has a reputation for its excellent drink offerings. The bar is well-stocked with a great wine list and a variety of cocktails, hard liquor, and beer. While some reviews note the drinks are good but not "amazing," they are a perfect complement to the lively atmosphere and delicious food.
Unique Menu Items: The menu features inventive and unique dishes that you won't find anywhere else, such as the **Hanasaki Crab Shawarma**, **Dover Sole In A Paper Envelope**, and the intriguing **Spaghetti A La Vongole**. When dining at HaSalon, the menu is an adventure, and it’s best to trust the kitchen. However, based on customer reviews and the provided menu information, there are several dishes that are worth highlighting. For a standout entree, the **Mushroom Steak** is a beloved dish that is consistently praised for being "so good." The **Entrecôte** and **Rib Eye Steak** are also excellent choices for a hearty and flavorful main course. If you're a seafood lover, the **Hanasaki Crab Shawarma** and **Living Ocean Treasures** are highly recommended, with the latter being a large platter for four people, perfect for a celebratory group setting. The **Blue Fin Tuna Toro** and **Turbot Carpaccio** are also great options from the fish and shellfish section, known for their freshness and unique preparation.
For pasta lovers, the **Squid Spaghetti** and **Shrimp Pasta** are intriguing options, but the most talked-about is a dish not explicitly on the provided menu, the "lemon gnocchi," which was described as "insanely good." This suggests that the menu is dynamic and changes, and the daily specials are definitely worth asking about. The small plates are also a great way to explore the kitchen's creativity. The **Yellow Tail Tartar** and **Octopus Carpaccio On The Rocks** are both excellent choices for a lighter start to the meal. The **Cabbage Cake** and **Sweet Potato Gratin** are also unique and flavorful sides that should not be overlooked.

It's a place where you're not just paying for dinner, but for a full night of fun, excellent service, and spectacular food. The combination of a top-tier culinary experience with a celebratory, high-energy environment is what makes HaSalon a unique and highly recommended destination in New York. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I took a star out because it’s WAY too expensive. That being said the food was all amazing. Each dish was so good. I especially loved the mushroom steak. And the lemon gnocchi was insanely good we had to order more. The drinks are good but not amazing. But I wouldn’t come here unless you are celebrating something special like a birthday because it’s more about the party atmosphere which is so fun. They start the party at 10:45 so I recommend coming earlier to eat.
May 10 · Neha LuthraI am surprised to see ANY negative reviews. I just celebrated my best friends Bachelorette Party here this past weekend. Everything was spectacular…Service, food, atmosphere, etc! All I had to do was give our server the slightest glance & they were back with a fresh glass of bubbly within secs. To say our expectations were exceeded is an understatement. Well worth the price since it wasn’t just a dinner…it was truly an experience! Highly recommend for any special occasion. Only negative I could assume is the environment is def curated by the patrons along with staff. This collective was not shy! Dancing on tables, napkins in air, confetti tossing, & plate smashing GALORE!
August 05 · Kaitlin FerraraIt makes sense to come here for the later reservation to enjoy the few hours before closing, because that’s when the music turns up and people start dancing. I can’t say the food was bad — it wasn’t spectacular — some things (like the steak) were delicious, while others were meh. But I can definitely say that it was overpriced. We eat dinner in NYC all the time — if you charge like $50 for small apps, I have certain expectations, and they are not met when it’s 1/2 of a potato with sour cream. The portions were comically small, and we were starving despite ordering more than what the waitress recommended. Ended up getting pizza across the street after. Good pizza, but that’s sad after you’ve spent a few bills per person at a restaurant. The cocktails were good and the wine list had very good options. I got the feeling that the food isn’t really their “thing” — it’s like a cover charge for groups of people to come and get drunk and dance, around others who can afford it. People were getting up on the tables and chairs and dancing, after the evening reached a certain point. It was a pretty fun experience, especially if you don’t expect it. I would recommend this place for a larger group that wants to drink, dance, and snack, but not for dinner or restaurant/food enthusiasts.
February 02 · Vasiliy KulakovWell, this place is quite unique — not so much for the food, but for the incredible ambiance. People were singing and dancing on tables, the waiters offered us shots and were super friendly, and we ended up chatting with lots of other guests. We had a great time and shared a lot of laughs! That said, it’s definitely overpriced. We spent $500 for two people, which feels steep considering the food was just okay — good, but not remarkable. The first bottle of wine starts at $105, though I have to admit the Mercurey we chose was excellent ($135, compared to about €60 online, so fair enough). In conclusion, if you’re looking for a wild, festive night out and you’re not too worried about the bill, this spot delivers on atmosphere and fun. Just don’t come expecting culinary excellence.
April 19 · Franck DuffaudI had an amazing time at HaSalon NYC! We managed to get a last-minute reservation, and despite how busy the night was, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive. The food was outstanding—just as great as I remember from the original restaurant in Tel Aviv. The energy, the atmosphere, and the overall experience made it a perfect spot for a birthday or any kind of celebration.
