★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My friend and I walked in on a Wednesday and sat at the bar. We got two drinks and some food. All of the dishes we ordered were amazing! My favorite were the octopus rice cakes and the short ribs. I’ll definitely be back to try other things soon.
August 19 · Jessica CTLDR; every single dish we tried at this place packed with flavor. The presentation of the dishes were superb. Portions are rather sizable.Ambiance (5/5): The inside is dark and noise level was okay to be able to hear each other.Service (5/5): Service was great with staff checking in on us often. We never felt rushed. We did have a mishap where the water cup being refilled spilled on one of us and the server comped us a free dessert!Octopus Tteokbokki - a little spicy but the octopus was seasoned through and not chewy. Seafood flavors immersed.Truffle Potato Pancake - unique presentation and umami.Hojok Galbi - every table appeared to be ordering this dish. The meat was super tender, fall off the bone. It was super flavorful.Spicy BBQ Galbi - this was indeed very spicy but tasty! Not for those who can’t handle spicy.Rosé Dak Galbi- This is spicier than expected. It reminds me of a chicken curry Indian-Thai style meets Korean flavors. This was my favorite dish of the evening!Ramyun Fried Rice- This was a bit saltier than I'd prefer but was still very good to accompany the other dishes. However, our table ended up getting a few bowls of white rice from the saltiness and spicy-levels.Soy-Glazed Bossam - the host said we ordered a little too much food and this was the item that we should drop (we decided to order it anyways). Kinda wished we listenedJeju Tangerine Tiramisu - The flavors were all very light, including the airy texture of the tiramisu. I loved the citrus flavors with the nuttiness.Thought this place was FIRE. Must come back!
August 19 · Steph WEverything was phenomenal. The honey kfc chicken was so fresh and some of the best Korean fried chicken bites I’ve had. The shrimp wontons were great but I wish they cut up the shrimp inside so it was easier to eat. The Hojok galbi was cooked perfectly. A little too smoky for me, but overall still phenomenal. The rose dak galbi was also great, but I do wish they had more chicken for the price. Felt a little too vegetable heavy with very few pieces of chicken that we had to dig for. The ice cream was also great. Will be back to try the rice cakes that they were out of when we visited
August 20 · NoorWe loved the ambiance and service. The limited edition ramen cheeseballs were very good. The Hojok Galbi was flavorful and tender, but not sure if it was worth $56. I enjoyed the little kick to the ramen fried rice. Overall, we enjoyed our time and would probably come back again!
May 03 · Catherine ShiWith a modern take on some classic Korean dishes, Hojokban is a fresh face amidst all the other restaurants in Koreatown. Their signature Hojok Galbi is really tender and juicy, but I especially liked their Truffle Potato Pancake and Perilla Oil Noodle. Both seem like such simple dishes but were so good!
