The beauty of the all-you-can-eat model at Hou Yi Hot Pot is that you can try a little bit of everything. For first-timers, a great strategy is to start by selecting a Duo Pot, which allows you to sample two different soup bases. The Tomato and Herb broths are excellent non-spicy choices, while the Spicy Ma La is a classic for those who enjoy heat.
When it comes to ingredients, the possibilities are endless. Be sure to try some of the high-quality meats like the Sirloin Steak and Snowflake Beef, which are thinly sliced and cook in the broth in just a few seconds. For a different texture, the Garlic Pork Meat Strips and Lamb Leg are fantastic. Seafood lovers will appreciate the fresh Headless Shrimp and the various fish and shrimp balls. For vegetables, don’t skip the staples like Enoki Mushroom and Baby Cabbage, which absorb the broth's flavor beautifully.
The sauce bar is also a key component of the experience. Take the time to create your own dipping sauce from the wide array of options, including sesame paste, garlic, chili oil, and soy sauce. The drinks, especially the herbal teas and juices, perfectly complement the rich flavors of the hot pot. And to finish off a perfect meal, a scoop or two from the unlimited Ice Cream bar is a must. The entire experience—from the fresh ingredients to the customizable sauces and the welcoming atmosphere—makes every choice a great one at Hou Yi Hot Pot.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Amazingly good restaurant.Don’t be fooled by the plain-looking exterior — inside, it’s incredibly clean and welcoming. The food is absolutely delicious — easily the best hotpot I’ve had at manhattan. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The owner (the lady who served us) was so kind and warm, truly made us feel at home.
July 05 · Yuiko ZhangTheir food makes you appreciate good ingredients. The service people were excellent and everyone offered assistance! The taste profiles here are inventive. The drinks made an impression and the food complemented them well. Hou Yi Hot Pot should be your next dining destination.
August 15 · Uggg GhbvHou Yi Hot Pot operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so reservations aren't accepted, and there's often a wait. That said, this is a fantastic hot pot spot! The soup bases are exceptional--I tried the spicy pickled cabbage beef (HOT), and it lived up to its name. It's incredibly spicy and absolutely delicious, but I wouldn't recommend it unless you can handle serious heat. You can choose between a large shared pot or individual pots, and the menu features a wide variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and drinks. The sauce station offers plenty of options to customize your flavors, and I appreciated the self-serve selection of soft drinks straight from the fridge. They also have a nice touch with ice cream options, including cups and cones, to cool down after your meal. All things considered, it offers excellent value. The only downside was feeling a bit rushed due to the crowd waiting for tables, but overall, it was a great experience. I'll definitely be back!
June 06 · Jamie LAmbiance (4/5): Plenty of seating and we were spaced far enough apart from other patrons. The sauce station is tucked away in a cramped corner. It felt like a no-frills hot pot place.Service (5/5): We never felt rushed and felt like the service was on point. The time from when we order to delivery is definitely faster than competitors.Food (4/5): The shared pot has 2 flavors to choose from. Meats selection tasted great and there was a variety of veggies and noodles to pick from. The AYCE also includes soft drinks (loved the grass jelly) and an ice cream bar with like 12 different flavors with toppings like M&Ms and pocky sticks! Orders are placed via a paper menu. There were no premium meats and there was a lack of sauce options. We did not try any of the seafood.
October 10 · Steph WIt is great. You make your own sauce, you pick your broth(up to2), then you order ingredients on a paper, they come collect and then bring it to you. Self service drinks in fridge, and all the ingredients are ok good. My fav was the customizable clear broth. Its pretty bland on its own, but add your own twist with the sauce station and youre all set.One bathroom but very spacious.
