Jerk House Caribbean Restaurant Introduce
For New Yorkers in search of a taste of the Caribbean, Jerk House Caribbean Restaurant is a vibrant and flavorful destination. Located in the heart of Midtown, this spot brings the authentic, aromatic, and spicy essence of Jamaican cuisine to the city. Jerk House is not just a place to eat; it's a sensory experience, with the tantalizing smells of slow-cooked meats and savory spices filling the air. It’s the kind of place that feels like a hidden gem, providing a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of city life with its rich and comforting food. The restaurant has garnered a reputation for its excellent service and delicious, juicy jerk chicken, which many consider among the best in the city.
The menu at Jerk House is a celebration of Caribbean flavors, with a special emphasis on the art of jerk seasoning. The traditional method of dry-rubbing or wet-marinating meats with a hot spice mixture—primarily made from Scotch Bonnet peppers and allspice—is at the core of their offerings. This dedication to authentic preparation results in dishes that are bursting with flavor. While the jerk chicken is a clear fan favorite, the menu extends to other delicious options like Jerk Pork, Jerk BBQ Ribs, and even Jerk Rasta Pasta, a modern twist on a classic. The variety of choices, from the spicy to the savory, ensures that every customer, whether a newcomer to Jamaican cuisine or a seasoned veteran, will find something to love.
The atmosphere is described as casual and trendy, making it an ideal spot for a quick bite. As one customer noted, it has a "fast food, eat and go type place" vibe, which is perfect for busy New Yorkers on a lunch break. Despite this fast-paced nature, the service remains a highlight, with staff praised for their patience and kindness, making customers feel welcome and well taken care of. Jerk House's inclusive environment is also worth mentioning, being LGBTQ+ friendly and a transgender safe space, which contributes to its welcoming and communal feel.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Fast kind service and delicious food. It was my first time and I was a bit confused, but the server was very patient with me. The oxtail gravy over the rice and peas, and the jerk chicken with the spicy sauce were fantastic. The plantains were also a stand out. I’m so happy I got the large, because I loved the food and finished all of it. Stool/counter seating. This place is kind of a fast food, eat and go type place.
July 24 · Michael A.Food and service were amazing!!Jerk chicken was juicy and flavorful. Among the best Jamaican food I had. RiceCustomer service was also amazing. Front desk lady was amazing. Sorry I didn’t catch her name. She was very patient and understanding.
July 18 · Amit KumarNothing majpr was wrong with the service I only gave them 3 stars because there is always room for improvement. I noticed that upon digging for my rice in the slow cooker, one alerted another about the condition of the rice and now while.eating it, I taste how it must've been nearng the bottom because I have hard sections of rice within. That makes the 1st impression and experience have a lasting negative effect. although I am suppose to return tomorrow. I will leave a complaint if I do show up. Give them a chance to right their wrong decision.
July 01 · faith sandersSuch yummy food! A must stop on your NY Tour. The jerk chicken was tender and had that balance of spice and everything nice 🙌🏽. The rice and peas is banging & the plantain was the perfect side to go with it all.
July 15 · Santana McGruderFrom France. My English is so so and the first girl I talked to was so so so mean. I felt bad for asking food.
