When you step up to the Jiannetto's truck, you'll be greeted with a menu of tempting options, but there are a few items that are an absolute must-try. The clear star of the show is the Grandma's Pizza Slice. This is not a typical cheese slice, but its unique flavor profile—a great, sweet, garlicky sauce, a crispy crust, and a light touch of parmesan—is what makes it a local sensation. For a more substantial meal, the heroes are an excellent choice. The Chicken Parmigiana Hero and Meatball Parmigiana Hero are both hearty and delicious, packed with flavor and sure to fill you up. The heroes are a great value and a perfect example of classic Italian comfort food done right.
Perhaps one of the most talked-about items on the menu, besides the pizza, is the Sicilian Rice Ball. Jiannetto's Reviews
the pizza was acceptable, but they should avoid (fake) parmesan cheese on it and add more mozzarella. i also got the rice balls: rice in the form of balls surrounding cheese, ground meat, and peas slathered in red sauce. they were tasty, but rice was maybe a bit overcooked but, for $4, i don't know that there's a more filling lunch anywhere in manhattan.
