★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1While the food was pretty good (two memorable dishes, rest were solid), it was a pretty underwhelming experience and certainly did not live up to 3* standards.Service was disjointed from the beginning to the point that the wait staff never asked if we wanted any of the supplements so we didn’t have the chance to try them.It was also so loud at times that we couldn’t hear the description of the course.Have definitely had better Korean fine dining at a lower price point at other restaurants in NYC.
August 14 · Carl ComstockAmazing fine dining experience. The food was delicate and beautifully presented. I honestly don’t even know how to describe how good the octopus was. It’s still one of the best I’ve ever had to this day. The carrot dessert was super fun and creative.Surprisingly tho, after a full course meal, I wasn’t full and had to grab some pizza after.Overall, it was still a memorable meal.*Pictures and videos are from Feb 2023*
June 20 · Bella ChangWent for bar seating but end up getting everything on the menu (should just went for the tasting menu in hindsight). Bar seating reso is quite easy to get and you get all the complimentary bites (p1) regardless what you ordered. Good experience to try out the menu or just want to revisit to try out a few specific items from the menuEverything is delicious and service is impeccable. 🌟🌟🌟worthy
August 12 · ShuangerI chose Jungsik for my boyfriend’s birthday dinner because I had a wonderful experience there about five years ago, and I wanted to celebrate his birthday with a special dining experience --especially one that could accommodate his lactose intolerance. Jungsik also recently earned its Michelin 3-star designation, which made it an even more meaningful place to revisit and celebrate.Having dined at other 3-star Michelin restaurants like Per Se, Le Bernardin, and the Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare (when it was 3 star), I can confidently say that Jungsik holds its own with its exceptional service, creativity, and warmth.Since it was a special occasion, I contacted the team in advance to share the context and dietary needs. We exchanged several emails, and they were incredibly patient, kind, and attentive throughout. I truly appreciated how thoughtful and responsive they were. From the moment we entered, nearly every staff member greeted my boyfriend with a warm "Happy Birthday," which made him feel genuinely seen and celebrated. The dining experience was exceptional. We opted for the non-alcoholic pairing, and it was incredible—the sommelier’s passion and thoughtful explanations elevated every sip.The team went above and beyond to make the evening unforgettable:- A heartfelt birthday message written on one of the dessert plates- Carefully customized lactose-free dishes- A personalized printed menu with a sweet message on the backMy boyfriend was so touched that he even teared up (something very rare for him).Thank you so much to the entire Jungsik team for making this day so meaningful and warm.Special thanks to Elanor, our amazing server who took such great care of us, and Jia, who coordinated everything so thoughtfully beforehand. We’ll truly never forget this experience.
March 26 · HeeYeol KangInventive, delicious and beautiful tasting menu deserving 3 Michelin stars. My favorite dishes were the striped jack and artic char. Both were so balanced and easy to eat. The whole meal was wonderful though and you can enjoy it even if you’ve never had Korean food or whether you’ve grown up with it like me. My only complaint were the chairs. The seats had little cushioning and you felt a bit stiff after a half hour.
