Kinn Introduce
Introduction / Overview
In the bustling, dynamic food scene of New York City, a restaurant that stands out for both its quality and its authentic flavor profile is a rare find. Kinn, a Thai eatery located inside the popular Olly Olly Market in Chelsea, is precisely that kind of place. It's a culinary venture that tells a personal story, bringing time-honored family recipes to the streets of New York. The name "Kinn" is a clever double entendre, derived from the Thai word for "eat" (กิน) and reflecting the English word "family." This philosophy is at the core of the restaurant’s mission: to create a communal and welcoming dining experience where patrons can savor the tastes of Thailand while feeling the warmth of a family's culinary journey.
Kinn is more than just a food stall; it's a testament to the dedication of its founders, who are proud to be an Asian and women-owned business. The menu is a curated selection of Thai comfort food, featuring dishes that are both classic and intensely flavorful. From the savory noodles and aromatic curries to their must-try fried chicken and crab fried rice, every item is crafted with fresh ingredients and a bold flavor. The atmosphere is casual and cozy, making it the perfect spot for a satisfying lunch or a delightful dinner, whether you're dining alone or grabbing a meal with friends. The location within Olly Olly Market adds to the vibrant energy, making Kinn a standout in a space known for its exceptional culinary offerings. It's a destination for those who appreciate authenticity, quality, and a story served with their meal.

What is worth choosing
Choosing Kinn is an easy decision for anyone in New York looking for a truly exceptional Thai dining experience. The most compelling reason is the restaurant's unwavering commitment to authentic flavors. Unlike some places that might Westernize their dishes, Kinn's menu reflects genuine Thai culinary traditions. This is especially evident in dishes that are less common in the US, like "Khao Kruk Kapi" (Shrimp Paste Fried Rice), which is known for its complex and flavorful profile with an assortment of toppings. The "Pad Kee Mao" (Drunken Noodles) is another example; while one customer noted a less saucy version, this can be a characteristic of a healthier, less oily approach, focusing on the fresh ingredients and spices rather than a heavy sauce.
Beyond authenticity, the quality of the food and the consistency of the experience are what make Kinn a local favorite. The fried chicken is a standout, praised for being fresh and full of flavor. The noodle soups, with their rich and layered broths, are perfect for a satisfying and comforting meal. The Crab Fried Rice is also a must-try, consistently receiving high marks for its deliciousness. The fact that the establishment is part of the Olly Olly Market adds a layer of convenience and fun, allowing diners to enjoy their meal in a lively setting. The friendly and sweet staff, as noted in a customer review, create a welcoming atmosphere that makes every visit a pleasure. This combination of a unique location, genuine flavors, high-quality ingredients, and a warm, inviting staff makes Kinn a truly worthwhile choice for anyone seeking a memorable Thai meal in the city. It’s a place that not only satisfies your hunger but also offers a taste of a family's passion for food.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m really confused, I ordered vegeterian Pad Kea Mao and veggies were delicious but noodles had zero sauce. Perhaps this is how it’s supposed to come in this restaurant and I’ll correct the rating. I just never experienced noodles with no sauce in any other Thai place. It lacked flavor, however was definitely more on the healthy side with no sauce 🤣
June 13 · sonikBest Thai food in Chelsea, their counter is always super clean, the food smells and taste fresh, they are friendly and sweet, especially Andrew, what a sweetheart! Delicious pad see ew with prawns or chicken, the crab fried rice is a must try, their rich broth noodle soups are packed with flavors and super layered, and they’re probably serving one of the best fried chicken in NYC. I also LOVE their Pork Belly! Great service, fresh ingredients, and bold flavors. Recommend for lunch and dinner!
January 09 · Camilo FloresWe ordered Tom Yam, but it was so spicy that we couldn’t eat it. Both portions were left untouched, aside from removing the shrimp. Instead of addressing the issue, the waitress remarked that we had probably never tried real traditional Tom Yam and excused herself. We left feeling disappointed, as our concern was dismissed rather than acknowledged.Avoid this place
