La Pizza & La Pasta Introduce
Located within the vibrant Italian marketplace of Eataly in downtown Manhattan, La Pizza & La Pasta is a haven for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine. This isn't just a restaurant; it's a culinary experience that brings the flavors and traditions of Italy directly to the heart of New York City. The atmosphere is a perfect blend of a casual trattoria and a bustling marketplace, filled with the delightful aromas of fresh-made pasta, simmering sauces, and wood-fired pizza. It's an environment that makes you feel transported to Italy, without ever having to leave the city. The open kitchen layout allows guests to watch expert chefs meticulously handcrafting each dish, adding an element of theater and transparency to the dining experience.
The menu at La Pizza & La Pasta is a straightforward yet comprehensive tribute to Italy's two most iconic dishes. The pasta is made fresh in-house, and cooked perfectly al dente. Diners can choose from a range of classic options, from the rich and hearty Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese to the simple yet flavorful Spaghetti Cacio E Pepe. Customer reviews frequently praise the pasta, with one patron noting that the sauce and ingredients were "both excellent" and the pasta itself was "absolutely delicious." The pizzas are crafted in the traditional Neapolitan style, known for a thin base and a puffy, charred crust. A special feature is the "A Ruota Di Carro" style, or "cart wheel," which is a traditional Neapolitan method resulting in a relatively flat, wide pizza with a thin outer rim.
Beyond the signature dishes, the restaurant also serves a selection of classic Italian entrées and antipasti. While the menu is concise, it is expertly executed. The beverage program is equally authentic, with a great selection of Italian wines and beers, as well as classic cocktails. This curated approach to both food and drink ensures that every element of the meal is designed to complement the others, creating a cohesive and satisfying experience. The attentive service and warm atmosphere make it a popular spot for both tourists and locals looking for a reliable and delicious Italian meal.
Customer reviews paint a clear picture of what makes this restaurant a gem. One diner's first experience with Italian cuisine in New York at this restaurant "far exceeded expectations," with a specific commendation for the "incredibly great" ham and the "thin-crust pizza" with its "rich flavor profile." Another review highlights the "impeccable" service and "amazing" food, and points out the restaurant's accommodating nature by offering gluten-free options for both pizza and pasta, a significant plus for diners with dietary restrictions. This commitment to both culinary quality and customer care is what makes La Pizza & La Pasta a memorable destination. The lively atmosphere, surrounded by the sights and smells of the Eataly market, adds to the overall charm.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I really enjoyed this Italian restaurant; it was my first time trying Italian cuisine in New York, and it far exceeded my expectations. The ham was incredibly great, and the thin-crust pizza was quite interesting with a rich flavor profile. However, the salmon didn't quite hit the mark. The pasta, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious—the sauce and ingredients were both excellent. Additionally, the service was very attentive.
May 30 · GlitterThe service is impeccable! The food is amazing. Don’t shy away from this location. Sit yourself down and enjoy the views, smells and surrounding atmosphere. The pizza comes gluten free if you ask and the pasta is delicious! Do yourself a favor and check this gem out!
March 23 · Angela AndrewsThis is like our go to place for good food with a great view. We almost always get the calzone, this time we ordered the truffle pizza as well and it was delicious. They have a special menu until August 31st and one of the items on this menu is the pistachio caramel tiramisu and it comes on special trolley :). The salad is also from the August menu, but we did not like the potatoes in it.
July 05 · Nikolina DanajloskaSituated in Eataly, La Pizza & La Pasta can be hard to find, but they have wonderful views of One World Trade and the below memorial. We were a group of 8 with two little ones. The restaurant was kid friendly which was nice as they were provided with crayons and a coloring sheet.Overall, the food was good. No one from our group seemed to have any complaints, but at the same time no one was raving. It was satisfying. I personally got the diavola dolce pizza and it was ok, I probably wouldn't get it again as I hoped the hot honey would have been more detectable and flavorful, it just felt like salami pizza. This place is the perfect lunch spot or a casual dinner.
June 02 · Bailey JaworskiI recently visited Eatly and had a decent experience overall. I tried both the pasta and the pizza — they were good, but nothing particularly special or memorable. Definitely not bad, just not "wow" either. One thing that stood out was the pricing. Compared to Italy or other parts of Europe, it felt a bit overpriced for what you get. But I suppose that's somewhat expected in the U.S., where Italian food tends to come at a premium. If you're craving Italian and don't mind paying a bit more, Eatly might be worth checking out. Just don’t expect a culinary revelation.
