For New Yorkers craving an authentic taste of coastal Maine, Luke's Lobster on the Upper East Side is the premier destination. This cozy and casual seafood restaurant brings the freshest flavors of the sea directly to the city. What sets Luke's Lobster apart is its commitment to serving sustainable, traceable seafood. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it a perfect escape from the bustling city streets. Whether you're a local resident, a tourist exploring the city, or a college student looking for a delicious meal, Luke's Lobster provides a welcoming and comfortable environment. It is also noted as being a family-friendly, LGBTQ+ friendly, and transgender safespace, ensuring a truly inclusive dining experience for everyone.
The menu at Luke's Lobster is focused on what it does best: simple, high-quality seafood. The star of the show is, of course, the lobster roll, a fan favorite that brings back memories of Maine for many patrons. You can enjoy the classic "Lobster Roll," which comes with a side of chips and a drink as a combo, or opt for a "Shrimp Roll" or "Crab Roll." A unique feature is the "Roll Flights," which allow you to sample all three in one sitting, including the "Lobster Roll Flight" and "Seafood Roll Flight." For those who want the full Maine experience, "The Mainer" offers a combination of a roll, a bowl of soup, a drink, and a side. A standout is the option to "Upgrade Your Lemon Butter," which allows you to enjoy a warm lobster roll for a small extra charge, a detail that is greatly appreciated by those who love the classic warm preparation.
Beyond the rolls, the menu includes hearty "Maine-Made Soups," such as a rich and creamy "Lobster Bisque" and a classic "New England Clam Chowder." You can add these to your combo or enjoy them on their own. The "Sides" are simple but perfectly paired with the main dishes, offering "Poppyseed Slaw" and "Kettle Chips." The menu also caters to a younger audience with the "Little Mainers" section, which includes "Kid's Grilled Cheese," "Kid's Hot Dog," and smaller-sized seafood rolls. For those with different dietary needs, the menu includes "Vegetarian options," ensuring there is something for everyone. The restaurant also offers a limited selection of "Alcohol," including "Beer" and "Wine," which can complement your seafood meal. The presence of a "Bar onsite" and a "Gender-neutral restroom" further adds to the inclusive and modern atmosphere.
Luke's Lobster provides a variety of services to make dining as convenient as possible. You can choose to "Dine-in" and enjoy the cozy atmosphere, or take advantage of the "Outdoor seating" on a beautiful day. For those who prefer to eat at home, "Takeout," "Delivery," and "No-contact delivery" are all available. The restaurant is popular for "Lunch" and "Dinner" and is also a noted "Caterer," making it a great option for events and gatherings. A key highlight is the "Fast service," which is particularly appreciated by patrons looking for a quick and satisfying meal. The establishment is also known for serving a "local specialty," which in this case refers to its authentic Maine seafood sourced directly from its own fisheries. This commitment to freshness is what makes the food so delicious and worth the visit.
What is worth choosing about Luke's Lobster is its unwavering commitment to quality and authenticity. Unlike many seafood restaurants that may source their products from various places, Luke's Lobster has a direct relationship with its fishermen, ensuring the freshest ingredients possible. This dedication is tasted in every bite of their famous lobster rolls, which are consistently praised for being the "freshest most tasty" rolls patrons have ever had. The menu, while focused, is expertly executed, and the options available, such as the "Roll Flights," provide a fun and engaging way to experience the different seafood offerings. The casual and inclusive atmosphere, combined with the convenience of takeout and delivery, makes it a perfect fit for the New York lifestyle. For anyone in the city craving a genuine, high-quality lobster roll or other seafood specialty, Luke's Lobster on the Upper East Side is a must-visit destination that lives up to its reputation.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It brings back memories in Maine. You need to pay $1 if you want a warm lobster roll.
July 30 · Haemin RyuGreat little lunch spot. Freshest most tasty lobster roll I've ever had. I ordered Luke's Trio which is a trio of rolls with crab, prawn and lobster. Each roll was delightful, all with equally unique different delicious flavours. Nice ambience in the place and service was very good.
January 18 · K RHonestly, would’ve given them a 5-Star rating if we just had the lobster roll. It was absolutely stuffed with thick CHUNKS of soft sweet sweet lobster and it was just delicious, especially if you enjoy being able to actually taste the lobster and not be overwhelmed by the butter and sauces/mayo that some places tend to stuff their rolls with to overcompensate for the lack of lobster meat. NOT here.Yes, the portion size is slightly small for the price BUT the flavour more then compensates for it.The lobster Mac and Cheese, on the other hand, lacked much lobster. There were only two pieces in ours, in fact. But the m&c was creamy and soft so it wasn’t bad overall, just expected more lobster.Staff are super friendly and amazing too!
April 21 · Gaurav Deep Singhlobster can't taste bad so obviously it was delicious. the sampler was a good way to try out the shrimp, lobster, and crab (each piece was 2oz whereas the regular size was 4oz & larger size was 6oz which just has more meat). this place is if you're willing to spend a good amount of money for yummy sandwiches. understandable for fresh seafood. but hey at least they give you a free bag of chips lol
May 16 · CarolineI’m not a lobster/seafood fanatic but the lobster rolls are 5 stars, perfectly seasoned, full of flavor and not overdone on the butter. Shrimp and crab rolls were good but nothing crazy. As some have mentioned, the portion sizes are small and did not fill me up. Lobster roll is on a hot dog size bun. Given the price point I was expecting a bit more, would have paid an extra $5 for a hero sized roll. Better for a lunch or someone who prefers a smaller portion.Decor was inviting, small place, normal service. Hybrid of casual fast food and sit down style (waited 8-12 min for food to come out). It’s in the category of ‘am I suppose to tip or not?’5* for the lobster roll quality and visual appearance of food.4* for the rest of the food and atmosphere3* for the price to portion ratio ($$$ is probably more accurate)
