Omakase SUSHI DAIRO is a worthy choice for anyone in New York who values an authentic and high-quality sushi experience without the often-exorbitant price tag of other high-end omakase spots. Its biggest selling point is the combination of genuine, fresh fish and the intimate, personal service provided by the chefs. The Omakase menu is a fantastic entry point for those new to this style of dining, offering a generous and well-thought-out selection. However, the true beauty of this place lies in its versatility. You don't have to commit to the Omakase to have a great meal; the a la carte options, from Toro and Uni to a simple Tuna Roll, are all prepared with the same care and attention to detail.
The atmosphere is another major reason to visit. It feels like a true "hidden gem" or a "sushi sanctuary," as one reviewer put it. It’s the kind of place where you can become a regular and feel like a part of the family, with a chef who remembers your preferences. This level of personalized service is rare in a city of millions. The prices, while not the cheapest, are considered by many to be a great value for the quality of the food and the overall experience. For a special night out, a quiet solo meal, or a deep dive into authentic sushi, Omakase SUSHI DAIRO offers a unique and satisfying journey that is truly worth the visit.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1A Hidden Gem That Treats You Like Family. If you’re looking for budget-friendly omakase in NYC that doesn’t compromise on quality or care, this is the place. I’ve been coming here for a while now, and it’s more than just the fish that keeps me coming back—it’s the people. The fish is always fresh. You won’t find gimmicks or over-the-top theatrics here—just honest, skillful sushi that hits all the right notes. It’s the kind of place where the chef might hand you a piece and say, “This one’s just how you like it”—and it always is.My little sushi sanctuary.Thank you!
May 23 · Elena PThe worst Omakase I’ve ever had in my life.We went with the sushi dinner set for $160. The first course was miso soup, which I usually love, but this one was about three times saltier. The first appetizer tasted like canned tuna cat food. The sashimi was objectively mid one after the other. The best part was the uni, the uni was incredible. The hand roll was disappointing. The green tea ice cream was great, and I doubt they made that in house.there are so many good Omakase places in the city and I really regret coming to this one.
December 02 · WenlanWe did the Omakase meal and it was superb. The fishes were different and tasted great with no dip. The appetizers were great and unique as well. And that brown sugar ice cream! A must get if you love bubble tea. It’s so creamy. Great way for us to end our last day at NYC.
May 09 · Kristina BoltWhat an awesome find! I came with my best friend for my bday and everything was so amazing! We had the omakase dinner and got a little full at the end and couldn’t finish the delicious ice cream! Maybe the next time I’ll do 11 pcs and order some appetizers. The chefs are masters and the rice was perfectly mixed with the sauce and vinegar. Definitely will come back.
March 26 · Molly LiI was excited to try a new omakase place in the area and I had a friend in town who also enjoys omakase, however the experience was just mediocre. I really enjoy small plates as part of the omakase experience but some of the flavor combinations missed the mark for me. The fish itself was good and fresh so I think next time I would just go a la cart and order the sushi platters.
