When you visit Pastrami Queen, the most essential choice is to go for what it's famous for: the pastrami. The Pastrami Sandwich is the quintessential item to order. While some reviews may draw comparisons to other New York delis, it's important to approach this sandwich on its own merits. It’s a solid, flavorful, and satisfying choice, especially when you're looking for a quick and convenient meal. Pair it with a side of mustard and a Jumbo Pickle to get the full deli experience. For those with a large appetite, the Any Queen Sized Sandwich with French Fries combo is an excellent value that provides a full, hearty meal. Another great option is the Soup & Half Sandwich, which allows you to sample two classic items at once, such as their popular chicken matzoh ball soup and a half pastrami sandwich. This is a perfect choice for a colder day or when you want a little bit of everything.
Beyond the pastrami, the menu has other gems that are definitely worth exploring. The Brisket King, a brisket sandwich on a club roll, is a fantastic alternative for those who want a different kind of slow-cooked meat. The breakfast menu, with its variety of bagel sandwiches like the Better than bacon (pastrami & egg), provides a unique and delicious start to the day, especially since each one comes with a free cup of black coffee. Don't overlook the side dishes, which are a cornerstone of any great deli. The Pastrami Egg Roll and Mini Franks in a Blanket are fun, savory bites that showcase the restaurant’s playful take on classic flavors. For dessert, a traditional New York treat like the Mini Black & White Cookies or a slice of Babka is the perfect way to finish the meal.
Ultimately, Pastrami Queen is a reliable destination for a quick, casual, and delicious meal in a highly convenient location. While it may face stiff competition from other legendary delis in the city, it holds its own by providing a consistent, high-quality product in a setting that's perfect for the modern New Yorker. Its menu has something to satisfy every craving, making it a place where both locals and tourists can find a meal that feels both authentic and deeply satisfying.

Pastrami Queen Reviews

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I write this to you, my dear reader, from the marbled floor in the middle of Moynihan Train station.I had intense deliberation with myself for 10 minutes about where to eat my meal before my train to Boston. “I should just get Chopt, it's healthy… Well, ramen does sound BOMB and I’ve been working hard lately… But a good pastrami sandwich…”Pastrami Queen won the day, as I had such a vivid picture of a Katz Deli Pastrami on Rye in my head. That turned out to be the issue, my expectations of a Katz Sandwich had Pastrami Queen fall flat on its face. Much smaller portion size, and just obviously not the same. High expectations get me into trouble in seemingly every aspect of life… solid sandwich though if you came in with no expectations. The pigs in a blanket slapped too. Funny enough, "Pigs in a Blanket" was my nickname in high school lol. They just called me "PIB" for short.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__
June 06 · Johnny NovoPastrami Queen definitely hits the spot when you are craving a quick, kosher sandwich. They have delectable varieties and everything I got there is fantastic—a pastrami sandwich with mustard and a pickle! The prices are adequate for NYC, and absolutely worth it for the high-quality food you receive!
May 06 · Bronson PerryJust passing by after cycling 115 miles and was browsing the menu. Enticed by $8.95 poster for pastrami & egg on a bagel.Just had dim sum but the gentleman at counter offered to let me sample a slice.🙏🏻I have to say the pastrami is outstanding 🥇. Moist texture with plenty of flavor. Some of the best I have tasted. So I placed an order. Somehow I did NOT get the bagel with egg. Instead, 3 thin slices of pastrami came with large potato knish. Both were delicious. However, I’m disappointed I only received 3 thin slices of pastrami which is the equivalent of 1 cut of pastrami at Katz’s.Probably need to bring a scale in the future for comparison. I mean, I saved $19 but likely received 1/8 of the meat portion. VERY FRUGAL!I hope the owner sees this from a native New Yorker and makes improvements. I would like to visit the other 2 locations but so far not motivated to go by the reviews I have read. The food & service is excellent but the portion is minuscule 😅😅.
August 12 · Frugal CyclistGood place to go when trapped in the rain waiting for a train. Got a pastrami on seedless rye. Almost like white bread. Lots of pastrami but a little fatty. Ok fries. Not Katz's or Sarge's but totally acceptable for the train station.
June 09 · JgwenI usually get the pastrami & egg when I stop by but everyone one is always so nice every time I stop by. They know my order by now 😭
