★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1It was my first time here and the food was pretty decent. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and garlic fried. Now the garlic fries are $0.75 more than the regular fries. It was pretty good though. The fries self was cooked perfectly. It was crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. The garlic wasn’t too strong. It was just a mild fragrant of an existence. Personally I’d just order the regular fries next time.I had such high expectations for the pastrami on rye. It was good, but it didn’t amaze me. The pastrami was cooked pretty well. It was soft, tender and juicy. The rye was very soft. However, the ratio was a bit off. My last few bites only had like a small slice between the rye bread. I also think they can be a bit more generous with the pastrami.Overall, it was good, but not great. I’ll probably come back to try their other items. They do have delicious looking knish and latkes.
April 29 · Bradley CNot gonna lie, I was supremely disappointed by their pastrami sandwich, the one they claim to be most famous for, especially considering how expensive it is. Quality pickle, but the meat was relatively dry, lacking some flavor and worst of all crumbly! It is not the worst sandwich, but if you are looking for high quality NYC pastrami meat, this ain’t it.
August 15 · Alec RamirezAs a tourist, this place has a vibe of a restaurant long in decline, perhaps now living off the name of a joint that was famous in an earlier era. I wonder too if they are stuck in a downward spiral where they are putting up prices because of the lack of customers, in turn reducing the customer base and so on. When we went in there, there was only one other customer at lunchtime on Tuesday. There was the first red flag…We ordered a pastrami sandwich and burger. To charge $27 for a“World famous hot pastrami sandwich” is laughable but made even more so after it is presented to you. I kid you not, the whole plate came out with pastrami, two slices of bread and two pickles. Not even a bit of butter or sauce on the bread. To even use the term ‘world famous’ in that context would usually be considered a joke. In its defence, the meat was nice but unless I’m getting a giant tray of it for that money, there is no value for money here.My partner’s burger deluxe which was below average and well over priced at $22. Chips tasted bland with the exception of a burnt oil taste.Staff were okay. They seemed happy to have personal conversations in Spanish whilst we were dining.Decor was old but at least clean and was fine.I can’t see this place hanging on for too much longer. Plenty of other deli stores around offering a lot more for much, much less.
May 27 · Alexander MattiaccioAwful gristly pastrami that's like shoe leather. I cannot fathom how anyone finds this place good. Side of coleslaw was bland. One extra star because the matzo ball soup was ok and they had rugulach that was also not bad.
May 17 · Evan TDelicious sandwich. Friendly service. They let us sample. Yes it’s expensive but not dry. Happy we came
