To go from $10.95 on the menu to nearly $13 total after tax and "service charge" for a basic 20oz, 4 ingredient smoothie with no add ons is crazy.Staff seems bored and unenthusiastic.*sigh* I liked this chain years ago, but the more locations I visit the more turned off I become.

Large store (for NYC) but doors are open in 90 degree heat, causing it to be warm in the place. Girl at the counter is hard to understand (speaks softly, rushes through the order), and chose to crumble and trash the receipt I asked for. Our orders were completely wrong (peanut butter on someone’s who is allergic 😱) and the fruit looks like it’s in a cooler that is freezing it. We frequent Playa in TX OFTEN, having had our first experience with it in Times Square 2 years ago. This place is nothing like it was then, and we’ll go elsewhere next time we’re in NYC

Playa Bowls is amazing. I couldn’t find the location for the one down in Grand Central but if anyone ever goes down to grand central and finds Playa Bowls, they work super fast to make your smoothies. It is so so good. It took me less than a minute to complete my order and in less than 2 minutes my smoothie was ready for pick up. Highly recommend Playa Bowls, especially during the summer and if you’re looking for a healthy alternative drink.

Great location and Iove seeing Playa Bowls all over the city. 🌆The bowls don’t have much in them but they’re yummy. Paying with card adds a percentage to your total.
