I have to say first, the food was amazing!! But the service was not good at all, and that is the only reason I put a 3 star.Our waitress was either very new or I don’t know, but usually they say if there new or just got sat a big group or something. She did not, she did keep saying she was busy but was she the only waitress “NO” was it 2 in the afternoon and there were only 7 tables with pearled “yes” so I’m not sure how she was busy. We had to eat so long for everything.We asked for a menu at the end for a dessert even though I knew it would take forever and she never came back. So I sent my son to the host stand to get one, and the host noticed how long we were waiting for her to come back to take our dessert order, so she just came over and took our order.But the food was absolutely amazing!! Just a shame! If you don’t like to hear your neighbors entire conversation I would reserve to sit at a high top or at a table near the bar. The general tables are right on top of each other. And it’s only Valet parking not a big deal since it’s only $5 but I think that’s good to know in advance.

I have been wanting to try Ruffles Black for some years and I was excited they were featured on Houston Restaurant Weeks! I had the Brussels sprouts, spinach chicken, & cheesecake with a lavender lemonade cocktail. My waiter was great and the hostess Huma was very kind and welcoming!Very cute atmosphere and valet parking as an option

Absolutely amazing! Service was immaculate — Gabriel was kind, knowledgeable about the menu, and so detail oriented (he even noticed the tiny food particle that my partner and I accidentally dropped on the table and cleaned it up for us without us asking). Each dish was well crafted, balanced, and creative. Most fusion restaurants these days just throw the word fusion and the meals aren’t amazing. Furthermore, many restaurants that have a lot to offer end up not having one perfect dish and just have quantity not quality. Ruggles Black is different from all of this. They have variety but each dish is perfect and unique. The flavors were complex with all the different taste and texture components. All the food was amazing, and I was absolutely shocked at how good it was. The vegetables were fresh and seasonal, portions were generous, variety in all dishes, food was well seasoned, and the ambience was nice! Everything is worth the price too!Compliments to the staff and chef!

We decided to kick off HRW with Ruggles Black and overall it was a good experience. The place was crowded so there was a slight wait for each of our courses. Our group ordered different items off HRW to eat. The appetizers and our main meal were pretty good however the miso spiced salmon was way too salty. The desserts looked good but they were just ok. The bread pudding should’ve been baked longer, the texture of the cheesecake was off, and the tres leches was lacking flavor. The establishment was nicely decorated but it gets loud. Parking is limited so we used valet which was convenient. Overall we enjoyed what Ruggles Black had to offer and we will be back to try other items on their extensive menu.

Enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Ruggles Black. The staff from the reception desk (Huma) to the wait staff were very friendly. We ordered from the Houston Restaurant Week menu and enjoyed every selection. We had Brussel sprouts, house salad, Chicken Parmesan, Keto Pepperoni Pizzas, desserts, and absolutely delicious drinks! You have to treat yourself to the wonderful atmosphere of Ruggles Black. Enjoy ;)
