What is truly worth choosing about SAE RON is its exceptional combination of culinary innovation, outstanding hospitality, and a welcoming atmosphere. While many restaurants may focus on one of these aspects, SAE RON seems to have mastered all three. The food is a clear reason to visit, with dishes that are both delicious and inventive. The Beef Tartare, for example, is described as "so fresh and tasty," while the Galbi Skewers are "absolutely amazing" with a perfect marinade. The "Crème Rosè Sujebi," a dish that might be new to some, showcases the restaurant's willingness to experiment, blending traditional Korean chili paste with a creamy sauce and a new take on the sujebi noodles. This kind of thoughtful creativity elevates the dining experience beyond the ordinary and is a huge draw for food lovers.
However, what truly sets SAE RON apart is its dedication to hospitality. The customer reviews are filled with praise for the staff, from the host who went "out of her way" to the "very outgoing and friendly waiter." This level of personal attention makes guests feel "so welcome and special," as one review attests. In a city where service can sometimes be an afterthought, SAE RON makes it a priority. ★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Sae Ron really won me over tonight. My friend and I decided to head over for restaurant week and expected a decent meal. What we got instead was the best hospitality I’ve experienced in NYC in quite some time in a comfortable, well decorated and designed dining space. The host and owner went out of her way to get us the seat we desired that overlooked the main dining floor. We were then greeted by a very outgoing and friendly waiter. The food came out well presented and every bite was so satisfying from every course. I kid you not, if I could eat here everyday I would. Please give this wonderful place a shot and come back and write a review for them!I hope to be back very soon.
August 08 · Steve Ori(FULL DETAILED REVIEW OF EVERYTHING WE ATE)My bf and i came here for a date night and so glad we chose this place! The atmosphere was nice and relaxing with kpop softly playing in the background, perfect for a date night or dinner with friends:)Thank you to our server Erin for amazing service and making us feel so welcome and special🥰For APPETIZERS we ordered…-BEEF TARTARE: which was so fresh and tasty especially paired with the fishcake side it comes with.-GALBI SKEWERS: this was absolutely amazing!!! The meat was so tender and juicy and the marinade was perfectly balanced🧑🍳💋For ENTREES we ordered..-CRÉME ROSÈ SUJEBI: the sauce was super creamy and flavorful and the tiny bits of bacon added a nice texture😋 however i was hoping that the sujebi would be more of a traditional sujebi which is more thick and doughy but they used a lighter and clear dough (similar to glass noodles) which was still good but I personally would prefer traditional sujebi.-YUJA GARLIC RIBS: if you love citrus and a crispy texture on your meats then you would love this but for me unfortunately, it wasn’t my favorite. My boyfriend enjoyed it tho so to each their own:)DESSERT…-THAI TEA TIRAMISU: my bf loves tiramisu and I’m obsessed with thai iced tea so we were ecstatic when we saw this dessert!! Thai tea flavor is strong which i loved:)DRINKS…-HONEY MAKGEOLI: this was TOO GOOD! Honestly one of the best makgeolis I’ve had. I loved that they used natural flavoring with an actual honeycomb. 10/10 would come back just for this drink😍
March 27 · Sohee ShimSae Ron is the place to go for a fun date night or dinner with friends.Erin and Jess are super sweet, and their passion definitely shines through in the menu and service. Erin’s always checking in on how guests are doing, and shoutout to our server Ben who knows exactly what to recommend for what you’re feeling that day!Highly recommend:Lobster corn cheeseMala chili mul-mandu - the combination leads to an unexpected but really savory flavor profile (we thought it was kind of like a spicy tortellini?). The crème fraiche tempers the spiciness and changes the flavor profile. The dish can be enjoyed with or without it (for those who are lactose intolerant you can ask for it on the side).Fried cauliflower bites - visually resembles General Tso’s chicken. Crispy exterior but tender on the insideCrème Rose Sujebi - noodles are the perfect textureYuzu-thyme infused makgeolli - the yuzu comes through very nicelyEarl grey infused soju - refreshingIt’s a modern, spacious dining area (with a fun playlist including some OG Kpop), but also check out Sae Ron Night. They have a cozy lounge space upstairs with an extensive list of innovative drinks. We definitely plan on going back to try out some other new items on the menu, including a new dessert - strawberry matcha tart.
April 19 · Terry AMy friends surprised me with a birthday dinner here and the food, drinks, and staff were all amazing! None of us had been here before and we are so glad we came. We ordered the shabu shabu, crème rose sujebi, soy garlic pork jowl, and jeyuk bibimbap. The sujebi and pork jowl were my favorite dishes and I’m definitely still craving them. For drinks, we ordered the yuzu soju which was very refreshing! The waiter let us know about the frozen soju cocktails and we ordered both flavors (I believe one was passion fruit and the other was an earl grey?) The frozen soju drinks were so good, genuinely my favorite frozen drinks I’ve had in a long time!We also had some ice cream to end the night, but it’s not pictured because we ate it too fast.If the food and drink wasn’t already great, the staff were super attentive the whole night and even approached us to wish me happy birthday. Thank you Sae Ron for making it such a memorable night! Looking forward to coming back.
August 17 · Erica Kaunangthe food was good. the soondubu in hell is not that spicy, and has a thicker “shakshuka” consistency rather than a traditional soondubu stew. it comes with two pieces of toast, but i still wished it came with white rice.the lobster corn cheese was good, nice melted and stringy cheese. the bread crumbs and lobster are buttery.the chocolate cake was not to my taste, it’s a thin cake with salted chocolate crisps and ice cream.
