Best quality falafel for 35 years!I’ve been buying lunch from Sam’s Falafel occasionally for the past 24 years, since I started working in Downtown Manhattan. The truck stayed at the same plaza - before 9/11, after 9/11, after COVID, and beyond. It’s amazing how for all these years they have consistently maintained the high quality of their food.Unlike other food trucks that offer falafel as just one of many items, Sam’s Falafel focuses on falafel only, and along with perfectly matching complements they master it to delicious perfection. Portions are generous with about seven falafel balls served with hummus, tahini, salad, pita chips, fried eggplant, stuffed grape leaves, caramelized onions, pickled hot peppers, and of course, pita bread. At first glance, the portion looks too large for one person to finish. However, it tastes so good that it disappears quickly and easily. For all these years, there's been a long line to Sam’s Falafel food truck at lunchtime, and that speaks for itself. At this point, Sam’s Falafel is a legend, and could easily be considered one of Downtown Manhattan’s culinary attractions.I highly recommend trying the Sam’s Falafel platter if you like Middle Eastern cuisine and are up for a hearty, fulfilling lunch in Downtown Manhattan! - beldim2010

Sam's Falafel Stand Introduce

Introduction / Overview

For over 35 years, Sam's Falafel Stand has been more than just a place to grab a meal; it has become a true culinary legend and a beloved fixture in the heart of New York City's Financial District. Nestled on the corner of Cedar Street, this stand has consistently served up what many locals consider to be the best falafel in the city. Its longevity and unwavering popularity, evident by the consistent long lines during lunchtime, speak volumes about the quality and dedication behind every single order. In a city where food trends come and go, Sam's Falafel Stand has remained a constant, providing a delicious and reliable option that has earned the loyalty of generations of downtown workers and visitors.

What sets Sam's apart is its singular focus on mastering one thing: falafel. The result is a simple but magnificent menu that guarantees a fulfilling and flavorful experience every time. The atmosphere is authentically New York—a casual, bustling food stand where the quality of the food does all the talking. It’s a perfect spot for solo diners looking for a quick and hearty lunch, or for tourists who want to experience a quintessential piece of the city's street food culture. Sam’s is not just a sandwich shop; it's an institution, a testament to the power of a single, well-executed dish.

Location and Accessibility

Sam's Falafel Stand is located at 100 Cedar St #90, New York, NY 10006, USA. While the address might suggest a building, this location refers to its long-standing spot as a food stand on a plaza, often described as a "fixture in the park." This makes it an incredibly convenient stop for anyone working in the Financial District or visiting nearby attractions. The stand is situated in a highly accessible area, with major subway lines and bus routes just a short walk away. This makes it an easy and quick destination to get to for a lunch break.

Because it's a stand with a primary focus on takeaway, the accessibility is straightforward. There is no need to navigate a large restaurant with many tables and chairs. Instead, you simply walk up to the counter, place your order, and your food is prepared right in front of you. While there might not be dedicated seating at the stand itself, the surrounding public spaces, like Zuccotti Park, offer plenty of benches for a relaxing "dine-in" experience in a casual, park-like setting. This makes it a great option for a break from the hustle and bustle, allowing you to enjoy your delicious meal in a comfortable outdoor environment. The nature of the business—a simple, focused food stand—means it is naturally accommodating and easy to access for a quick, satisfying meal.
