Spicy Village’s menu is a treasure trove of delicious options, but there are a few standout items that have earned a special place in the hearts of regulars. These dishes are a fantastic starting point for anyone looking to experience the best the restaurant has to offer.
First and foremost, the Hand-Pulled Wide Noodles are an absolute must-try. Whether you choose them in a soup or served dry, the noodles' perfect texture and ability to absorb the rich sauces are simply incredible. The Lamb Hui Mei is a popular choice, with tender lamb and a flavorful broth that is both comforting and satisfying. Similarly, the Spicy Beef Brisket Huimei is a hearty and delicious option for those who love rich, savory flavors. The Black Bean Sauce Hui Mei with pork inside is another fan favorite, praised for its well-balanced taste and perfect sauce-to-noodle ratio.
Another iconic dish is the Spicy Big Tray Chicken. This massive plate of chicken and vegetables is perfect for sharing and is packed with bold, spicy flavors. It's a signature dish that perfectly encapsulates the restaurant's culinary style.
Beyond the noodles, the Pork Pancake is a dish that receives rave reviews. It is a crispy, savory delight that many consider their favorite item on the menu. The Dumplings, both steamed and in soup, are also highly recommended. The Soup Dumplings (Bao) are juicy and flavorful, while the Pork & Vegetables Dumpling W. Sour Soup offers a unique and delicious twist on a classic.
The menu also offers a variety of vegetarian and other meat options, ensuring there's something for everyone. For a simpler side, the Garlic Chinese Baby Bok Choy is a fresh and perfectly cooked vegetable dish that complements the heartier mains. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes, making it an excellent value.
While the cash-only policy may require a quick stop at an ATM, the exceptional quality of the food and the authentic dining experience make it well worth the small inconvenience. Many customers agree that the flavors are so good they can be "good for your soul and health," as one reviewer put it. The combination of well-seasoned meats, perfectly cooked vegetables, and the delicious chili oil makes every dish a standout.
In short, what’s worth choosing at Spicy Village is the chance to try truly authentic, comforting, and delicious Chinese food, with a special emphasis on their legendary hand-pulled noodles and the must-try Big Tray Chicken.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Dry black bean with pork noodles tasted so much better with chilli oil, the beef noodle soups tasted too kelpy at first but it grew on me and it feels good for your soul and health. Pork pancake was my favourite. Cash only js annoying but there is an ATM inside a little grocery store around the corner.
August 16 · Jinhee ParkReally enjoyed their hand pulled noodles! The noodles had a great texture and coated with delicious sauce. The lamb was well seasoned and the bok choy was cooked well. The cilantro added a hint of freshness and the chili oil was flavorful.Would recommend!
July 01 · Tommy WuEasily my favorite vegan chinese place in new york city. I travel there several times abl year for work and order from different vegan chinese places every time. Their general tsos and kung pao is perfectly crispy and the dumplings are served in this spicy chili oil that is incredible. They keep the sauce separate from the veggies so they dont soggy in transit. I ordered delivery and have never been to the location in person, so I can't comment on service or atmosphere, but I look forward to ordering from them again next time I'm in new york.
June 07 · CollinAbsolutely loved this spot! Got there on a weekday around 9pm so it was pretty empty. We were seated quickly and got our orders in. The food was so excellent! And you can get some drinks of your own by the nearby bodega. Sure, I saw some rats scuttle by (in the distance) but it honestly added to the charm of it all. For me as a first time visitor, it was truly a hidden gem.
June 28 · Yagazie EmeziDuring a food tour of NYC, we ate at many places, but Spicy Village stood out. The scallion sauce veg dumplings were amazing. The flavor was so authentic it felt like we were eating in another country. I can't recommend them enough—definitely a 5-star experience!
