the Press Lounge Introduce
Perched 16 stories above the vibrant streets of Hell's Kitchen, The Press Lounge offers a dining experience that is truly a cut above the rest. As an American and fine dining restaurant, its reputation is built not only on its exquisite menu but also on its breathtaking, panoramic views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River. This isn't just a place to eat; it's a destination. The ambiance is one of refined elegance, with a trendy yet welcoming atmosphere that is perfect for a special occasion, a romantic date, or an evening with friends. The glass-walled interior ensures that even on cooler nights, guests can enjoy the spectacular vistas. The menu, complemented by a meticulously curated beverage program, focuses on seasonally inspired small plates and an extensive list of fine wines and creative cocktails. The Press Lounge provides a level of sophistication and luxury that sets it apart, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to experience the best of New York's upscale dining scene.
The Press Lounge is located at 653 11th Ave, 16th Floor, New York, NY 10036, USA, atop the Kimpton Ink48 Hotel. This address places it in the western part of Hell's Kitchen, a neighborhood that has evolved into a major culinary and social hub. While it is a few avenues west of the typical tourist paths, its location offers a unique perspective of the city and its proximity to major landmarks. It's a convenient 15-minute walk from the Theater District and Times Square, making it an excellent pre- or post-show destination. For those using public transportation, the closest subway stations are a few blocks east, including the A, C, and E lines at 42nd Street and Port Authority. The location on 11th Avenue, while less crowded than the avenues to the east, also provides a sense of exclusivity and quiet that is often hard to find in New York City. The rooftop setting, with its dramatic views, is a huge part of its accessibility, providing a unique vantage point of the city that feels both intimate and expansive.
The Press Lounge provides a sophisticated range of services tailored to a high-end clientele seeking an exceptional rooftop experience.
Dine-in: The primary service is the in-person dining experience, which is the heart of the establishment. Guests can enjoy a meal with table service in either the elegant indoor space or on the expansive outdoor rooftop patio.
Outdoor Seating: A key feature of The Press Lounge is its stunning outdoor seating. This is the main draw, allowing guests to take in the breathtaking views of the city skyline and Hudson River, especially during sunset and evening hours.
Reservations: The restaurant accepts reservations, which are highly recommended due to its popularity. This helps guests secure their spot and avoid a potential wait, especially during peak times.
Late-night food: The Press Lounge serves late into the evening, providing a perfect spot for late-night cocktails and small plates. This is a significant advantage in a city that never sleeps, offering a refined option for evening entertainment.

The Press Lounge is defined by a number of remarkable features and highlights that distinguish it from other restaurants and bars in New York City.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Such a beautiful rooftop, however their reservation system makes no sense. I have been here many times and I know it’s always empty. Hence, why the need for a reservation?I get it. The allure of exclusivity and maybe table organization? But, it is a rooftop. At least, offer walks ins to wait if a “reservation” does not come in.Still recommend to go, because of the view🎀🥳-However, hoping management reads this and understands they are losing $$$$$.If you are going, PLEASE make a reservation, have valid ID and follow their clothes policy. Took a picture of their reservation link, but you can also go to their website directly.
July 25 · KarenThis establishment has changed ownership and is no longer Press Lounge. Unfortunately, the hostess, Ebony, provided ultimate subpar service. After a $250+ expenditure, her unprofessional demeanor and lack of floor management skills were evident. I would advise patrons to exercise caution. To management, I suggest retraining Ebony or reconsidering her role to improve customer experience.
August 04 · SPExcellent environment, interesting menu selections with a wide variety including some vegetarian dishes. Meal service was very good, though plan on 1.5-2 hours for dinner. Portion size could be optimized… appetizers were a bit large, pasta and main dishes were a bit small.Overall great experience with room to grow.
May 20 · Evan ButlinWell prepared food + nice & welcoming staff! We liked the avocado toast especially. Also the fried chicken is unbelievablly juicy! Must try! Thank you all for what you have done for my mom's birthday! 😊😁
May 19 · Yan ZhangCool rooftop lounge, the views are nice as socializing having a great views of the city. The cocktails wise half the the cocktails were really good. Even with the bartender choice if you like a surprise. Having a green house area with seating any blankets, so you don’t have to exactly sit outside when it’s windy/colder at night. Cool spot to check out and meet more mature crowd.
