★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1The food was not as good as we expected. The udon was too firm, the tempura was too oily. Heard great things about this place from friends, however i think its a bit overrated
March 31 · Richard Damanik[QUICK STATS]Food: Japanese CuisineService: Friendly StaffInterior: Clean and tidy, including the restroom!Price: $$ Relatively Cheap-- CASH ONLY![REVIEW]Udon St. Marks is a gem in New York not many are willing to search for, but once you've gotten it, it is always a place worth coming back to. If you're looking for a fresh new spot and don't got a lot of dough on you, this place has the perfect portions and quality you're looking to impress your friends with. The interior is rather small, but they do have a lot of bar space if you're going with a friend or two. One of my personal favorite features is their coatrack and the bag hooks underneath the bar-- many miss it but it's definitely there! The bar overlooks their noodle kitchen so you can watch the chef's make your meal right in front of you! Quite the rustic charm, for sure.Recently, I had my all-time favorite, the Tempura Combo. This combination platter comes with a large bowl of udon topped with chives, a bowl of rice, four golden-fried veggies, and two large, perfectly crisp shrimps with a side of tempura sauce. The plating is 100% instagram worthy, and it actually tastes amazing too! Everything on the plate is made fresh and comes on a neat little tray. They even provide spice flakes and other condiments at the table, rich really up the flavor of the soup.Love coming here, and have since I was in High School. This place is near and dear to my heart, so if you haven't already, definitely give these guys a try. They totally deserve it!
November 17 · A. L.Good food but not not great. Cute space. Service was perfect. My water was constantly being refilled which I feel like is rarely these days. And it’s a heat wave so it was needed. I got beef curry udon. There was hardly any beef and the noodles were overcooked but the curry broth was great. Good price but since there wasn’t much beef I guess the price seems fair.
June 23 · Sabrina SafferFood is excellent at its excellent reasonable price. I would to go back. I love eating at this place, and I am a regular customer.
August 24 · Bon Wani liked the vibes and it was surprisingly no wait for lunch on saturday, cash only. the rice is a little bit mushy imo but the udon texture is goodambiance is small and cozy
