Union Cafe Reviews
If I could give a zero, I would. We had 11:30 reservation for 4 ppl the day after Pride. The bar wasn't full and there was a drag show. We finally get two of our plates at 1pm. We waited almost two hours. We spoke to the manager and they offered to comp our drinks and offered us 20% off our meal so we kept waiting. The food was cold when it arrived. We never got our second round of drinks. That was the last straw. We actually walked out and went down the street. At another restaurant we got seated without a reservation and we were eating within 15 mins. Very disappointed in Union.
Jun 15, 2025 · Jaki BThis is the 5th time in as the past year I've driven out of my way trying to come in and support a local gay bar/restaurant when I'm in town but their kitchen wasn't open yet again. Nothing online says what their kitchen hours are and I've tried calling ahead but it doesn't even seem like they ever answer their phone. The bartender was nice and apologized but didn't seem to know what was going on with this either, he explained it was supposed to be temporary but by my count it's been at least 6 months? I really used to love this spot when I've come to town in the past but from what I've heard (and based on the state of the place in general) it's clearly been slipping since the new ownership took over.
Aug 04, 2025 · Grant ZI really miss the "old" Union. A time when the service was top notch and the bar was always packed on the weekends. It seems the past few years it has been slowly slipping away, from the horrible service (waited 20 minutes) for a server, when they finally took our drink order, they never came back to see if we wanted to order food. We just cashed out and went to another restaurant. I've also noticed the bar isn't as well kept as it used to be. Notice the tvs broken/ missing that used to show upcoming events and very unsturdy tables recently placed on the patio. This place deserves better...
Dec 30, 2024 · s cA bit loud. Those who frequent know what to expect on a Sunday night, but we were surprised by all of the activity. Seems like a fun time, though. Staff was friendly and very conversational. Street parking was free on Sundays. Gumbo was great and on the spicy side!
Jan 20, 2025 · Cinnamon Doran Keller Williams Greater ColumbusTristin and Derek were the bartenders. Sweet and attentive. We made a stop in for a quick bite and a cocktail to windedown the evening. We had the cheese curds as an app and then I had the lemon caper chicken and my hubby had the kickin' chicken sandwich. It was trivia night. What a cute and fun spot!
