Yoshi (Downtown Columbus) Introduce
In the dynamic heart of downtown Columbus, Ohio, the culinary landscape is a vibrant tapestry of global flavors. For those craving the rich and diverse tastes of Asia, Yoshi stands as a popular destination. Located conveniently on High Street, this restaurant offers a menu that spans various Asian cuisines, from flavorful Vietnamese pho to fresh and delicate sushi rolls. While the food itself is often the main draw, a complete understanding of the dining experience—including service speed and ambiance—is crucial for a local resident planning a visit. This article aims to provide a clear and engaging overview of Yoshi, offering insights into its offerings, location, and overall suitability for the Columbus community, all based on factual public data and customer feedback.
Yoshi has established itself as a key player in the downtown Columbus food scene by providing a menu that focuses on fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. The restaurant is known for its diverse selection, which allows diners to explore a range of Asian dishes in one place. While customer reviews highlight the quality of the food, they also offer a nuanced perspective on the service. A key takeaway is the need to manage expectations regarding speed, particularly during a busy lunch break. One review states, "If you have a limited amount of time for a lunch break (and a not so understanding boss!), I don’t recommend that you come here!," noting that their pickup order was delayed by 30 minutes. This feedback, repeated across a few reviews, suggests that while the food is "good" and "flavorful," the service can be "slow." This is an important detail for locals to consider, especially those on a tight schedule.
The location of Yoshi is a significant advantage for its clientele. Situated at 41 S High St #150, Columbus, OH 43215, the restaurant is in a prime spot within the downtown core. This location places it within walking distance of numerous office buildings, government centers, and the bustling city streets. For anyone working in the area, Yoshi is an accessible option for lunch or a post-work dinner. Its position in this central business district means it's a convenient stop for a wide range of people, from professionals to students and city visitors. The surrounding area is well-served by public transportation, including COTA bus routes, making it an easy trip for residents from various parts of Columbus.
However, like many downtown establishments, parking can be a factor to consider for those driving. Street parking and nearby garages are available, but they can be limited or costly depending on the time of day. For a quick pickup order, the convenience of the location might be outweighed by a potentially longer wait time, as noted in customer reviews. The proximity to many offices and the Ohio State University campus makes it a logical choice for many, but planning ahead, especially for dine-in or takeout, is recommended. The amenties and atmosphere are generally described as "calming and refreshing" with a "clean location" and "friendly staff," which contributes to a positive dining experience once the wait is over.
Yoshi (Downtown Columbus) offers a wide array of services that cater to various tastes and dining preferences, with a strong focus on a la carte menu items and takeout.

Beverage Selection: The menu includes a variety of beverages, which can complement the meal.
The range of food items, particularly the well-regarded pho and summer rolls, makes Yoshi a place with solid culinary offerings, even if the service speed is a point of consideration for many.
There are several key features and highlights that make Yoshi a memorable establishment, though some are accompanied by constructive feedback.
Flavorful Food: The food quality is consistently a highlight. The pho is praised for being "flavorful," and the summer rolls are noted as being "good." The citrus sauce for the summer rolls is also a unique and popular feature.
Plentiful Toppings: Customers appreciate the generous amount of toppings on their pho, which contributes to a satisfying and hearty meal.

Sauce Quality: The sauces, such as the citrus sauce for the summer rolls, are noted as being a highlight, adding a unique and appealing element to the dishes.
While the food is generally well-received, it is important to acknowledge the feedback about service speed and some inconsistencies in food preparation, such as the "very tough and chewy" beef in a vermicelli bowl. These are factors for a customer to consider.

If you have a limited amount of time for a lunch break (and a not so understanding boss!), I don’t recommend that you come here! I placed an order for pick up and my order was still not ready until 30 minutes after the designated time, that they already kept pushing back.I got pho and summer rolls. Summer rolls are difficult to mess up and they were good. I do really like the citrus sauce for their summer rolls.Pho was flavorful with plentiful toppings.Note: I’ve eaten here twice before. Once dine in, they weren’t the fastest. Once I came in and order taken out and that was also very slow. The food is good, the other parts make say I don’t know if I would come back.

Mar 18, 2025 · DR MartinStopped in for a quick lunch, and the service was okay, the place seemed really clean. The food was just okay. I definitely had better sushi. I ordered the spicy California roll and 1 dumplings chicken & vegetable dumplings and they were very cold. This was my first time eating dumplings and they were warm. It definitely threw off my whole entire lunch. I just let out a sigh.I probably won’t return .
Jan 11, 2024 · GD IIII seriously cannot recommend this place enough! The people working there are so nice and welcoming. One of the workers refers to everyone as “my friend.” The atmosphere is so calming and refreshing. They also brought the food to me, so I could sit and relax while I waited for it. And the food itself is incredible. I went there with my friends looking to get sushi and ended up getting pho and it was so good that I was sad when I got too full to finish it! I also got the summer rolls which were just as amazing! The portions were quite big and I only spent around $20 for everything!
Aug 09, 2024 · Maddy HicksEating downtown can get expensive when you do it regularly for lunch. I decided to give this place a try. I do not eat seafood but I saw they had other selections and a habachi special on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Super friendly staff, clean location and service time was good. I ordered the Chicken habachi with fried rice, yum yum and a little squirt of Sriracha. It was good, portions were decent too.I will definitely be returning. Great option for anyone working in the downtown area near the Statehouse. It right across High street from the Statehouse.
