★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1My family and I had lunch today at Berimbau Midtown, and we had a wonderful experience. The service, from the hostess to the servers, was warm and attentive. It was my birthday celebration, and they made sure to acknowledge it. The food was delicious. For appetizers, we had pão de queijo (cheese rolls) , aipim frito (fried yucca), and pastéis de carne (meat empanadas). We ordered the picanha (enough for three adults) and a feijoada vegana (a vegan version of the Brazilian bean stew). We tried their caipirinha flight, and I liked that the samples were not strong. We also had Brahma (a popular beer in Brazil). Finally, for dessert, we had brigadeiros (Brazilian chocolate truffles), pudim (Brazilian flan), and they sent me a scoop of cajá ice cream with a candle for my birthday, which was a nice touch. To top it all off, a duo was playing and singing Brazilian music (I only wish it were not so loud). It's a beautiful and cozy restaurant, and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to have a taste of Brazilian cuisine and vibe.
July 20 · Ana GVery nice Brazilian place in the heart of Midtown. The place has nice atmosphere and even having live music on weekends. The food is delicious, absolute must is their cheese bread, most likely you would need to order it twice. Also their steak is really good, but keep in mind that it is quite big and need at least two if not three persons to finish it. Also I really liked their black beans stew, which is also good to share with someone. Banana delight as dessert was very good, creamy and not so sweet. Very nice place to get together with friends.
May 30 · Alex SerebrovBerimbau Brazilian Kitchen offers a great atmosphere with authentic Brazilian vibes, from the decor to the music. As a last-minute walk-in, we were seated at the bar, which was a nice experience. The food had a satisfactory taste and seemed authentic, but unfortunately, both the meal and dessert were served cold. The grilled banana dessert, which was expected to be warm or hot, was also cold, which was disappointing. Given that we only took one bite, it would have been a kind gesture for the restaurant to offer to remove it from the bill.Despite this, the ambiance and overall experience were enjoyable, and I’m willing to give it another chance—perhaps with a reservation next time. Hopefully, the temperature of the food will match the quality of the flavors on our next visit!
March 31 · anatalia santanaReview for Berimbau Midtown – Visit on June 21, 2025I had a lovely time at Berimbau Midtown! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with beautiful Brazilian touches in the decor that made me feel right at home. Everything I ordered—from the appetizers to the mains and drinks—was absolutely delicious. The coxinha na chapa and dadinho de tapioca were flavorful and authentic. The freshness of the Brazilian pepper sauce was amazing—you could smell its aroma from feet away! The vegan moqueca and feijoada were both well-seasoned and dishes I would gladly order again. That said, I’m giving 4 stars for food due to the salad options. As a Brazilian who enjoys cooking healthy meals, I found the salads underwhelming and not in line with the tropical and creative cuisine Brazil is known for. Caesar and cauliflower salads felt generic. The octopus salad was better, but I’d suggest grilling the octopus for added texture and flavor. A refreshing option like a watermelon salad, or something with quinoa or burrata (despite the latter being Italian you could make it with a Brazilian touch), would elevate the experience. As for service, there’s room for improvement. When I called to make a reservation, the staff member I spoke to simply said they couldn’t take reservations by phone and didn’t offer clear next steps. I had to ask how to proceed, and only then was told to use the app. A more helpful approach would be: “We don’t take phone reservations, but you can easily reserve through our app or website.”Lastly, the server - don’t recall her name - had totally unnecessary remarks when I joined two tables so that I could sit next to my friend while watching the singer and the “instrumentista” do their thing. She showed to be annoyed and acted as if I disrupted her peace. I understand that could be an issue if the table was reserved but it was not AND the restaurant was about to close. I understand it is not part of etiquette for “we” the clients to be moving tables. YET, again, you need to train staff to know how to respond to situations because at the end of the day WE are the client. She was nice to us after though.Despite the few hiccups on service, Thank you for the experience. With a few tweaks, this place can truly shine even brighter.— Pantta
June 25 · PanttaFood was delicious but service was the worst in NYC. Children who were sitting next us hopping, dancing but nobody did not care. I believe if parents did not control their children in a restaurant, staff should ask politely to them but nothing happened. Also, our table server never care about us. She never comes back after the dishes were served and did not check how the steak was cooked. When we left the restaurant, no one greeting us, even a woman who was sitting on the front desk. No tip, of course. Absolutely terrible customer service.Beautiful and cozy interior with delicious dishes but the ugliest management. That's so sad.
