★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We ordered the Hiroshima-yaki and beef yaki udon, both were absolutely delicious! The outer crepe-like layer of Hiroshima-yaki was really good, thin and slightly crispy, almost mochi-like, not too thick or doughy like other okonomiyaki I’ve tried! It fully covered the ingredients inside without being too thick or filling, just really well balanced and flavourful! The yaki udon was also amazing! The udon was perfectly stir-fried, full of flavour, and the beef was tender and tasty. You can tell everything is made with care.Their homemade yuzu drink is fabulous too!And best of all, the owner/staffs are super friendly, chatty, and genuinely passionate about the restaurant. You can really feel their heart in the food and service. Definitely a spot I’d love to come back to and recommend to friends!
August 02 · Thomas WongI go to Doko Demo every time I’m in New York. It’s a simple and welcoming spot a great little local gem that always makes you feel at home. The food is absolutely delicious, portions are generous, prices are fair, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. Everything is fresh and made with care. We’re always greeted warmly, and the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Honestly, it’s the best dining experience I’ve had in New York. I keep coming back and I will every time I’m in town.
July 06 · Tourist27The soy sauce based yakisoba with tofu tastes SUPER good. I got hot, and the spice was a good kick without overpowering other flavors (front of mouth, non lingering burn). Keep in mind that I'm a spice lover.I'd highly recommend this place!! Freshly cooked, great service, cute restaurant, and an incredible chef!I just read the chef's story as now I'm heading back for more - To the chef, I'm grateful for your sacrifice and hard work to put this yummy food on my plate!Especially as a vegetarian, there are rarely options, but DokoDemo has a couple flavorful vegetarian choices. :)
April 16 · Abby ToAmazing fried Chicken. Soft and crunchy (rice puff) on the outside with every bite. Clean ingredients. They definitely used new oil.Yuzu lemonade 🍋. Nothing beats it.Pork Okonomi-yaki is just soft while cabbage is crunchy. Fresh ingredient once again. Feeling light yet full at the end. Must try
April 06 · Ana N.Overall just ate a light meal here. Had high hopes because I love Japanese food and tik tok told me this is authentic versionIt wasn’t bad. Just didn’t blow me away. I think I would go back and try other things. Most of it is classic street food not much health consciousness - which is totally fine to be honestIt’s not a no for me but also not running back today
