When it comes to the menu at Fomo Momo, the name itself gives you the first clue. Momos are the star of the show, and the restaurant has built its reputation on them. However, it's important to approach the experience with a balanced perspective. While one reviewer expressed disappointment, citing momos that were "cold, hard, and honestly didn’t even taste like momos," another highly-rated review called the selection of Indian street food "mind blowing." This suggests that a visit can be a thrilling culinary adventure. The momo menu is a highlight in itself, with creatively named options like Sexy Schezwan, Must Makhani, and Tempting Tandoori. These fun flavors promise a unique twist on the classic dumpling. The concept of pairing them with various chutneys like Chilli Garlic and Cilantro Chutney is a great feature that allows you to customize your bite.
Beyond the momos, the menu offers a rich variety of Indian street food staples and modern twists. The Rice Bowls are a popular choice for a hearty, filling meal, featuring classics like Butter Chicken Bowl and Paneer Makani Bowl. The sandwiches also provide a fusion of flavors, with the Butter Chicken Sandwich and Crispy Paneer Sandwich offering a unique take on comfort food. For something grilled, the Tandoori Chicken Tikka and Tandoori Paneer Tikka are excellent choices.
For those who want to sample a little bit of everything, the Assorted Platter is a great option, as it allows you to try multiple items at once. And no trip to Fomo Momo would be complete without trying some of the classic snacks. The Samosas (two pieces) are a staple, while the Pav Bhaji is a popular Indian street food dish that is worth a try. You can also explore the small plates like the Masala Fries for a savory treat.
To wash it all down, the drinks menu features unique options that complement the flavors of the food. The Mango Lassi is a classic choice, but the Masala Lemonade and Rose Lemonade offer a different kind of refreshing experience.
In conclusion, Fomo Momo is a must-visit for New Yorkers seeking a trendy, casual, and flavorful dining experience. While the momos may have a mixed reputation, the overall consensus is that the restaurant offers a fantastic selection of delicious Indian street food with "great vibes." It's a great place to explore new flavors and support a local, women-owned business in the heart of the East Village.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’m a huge momo lover and have tried them all over NYC. After seeing a viral post on Instagram, I was excited to check this place out — the photos looked amazing. Even though I had the option to try their food truck in Jersey City, I went all the way to NYC to experience what I thought would be the real deal. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. The momos were cold, hard, and honestly didn’t even taste like momos. I liked the concept of pairing them with different sauces, but the execution just wasn’t there. The ambience was cute, but the food left me really disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend this spot for momos and definitely won’t be coming back for them.
July 02 · Shravya PFinally made it to this hidden gem in NY!! Good service, great vibes, and mind blowing selection of Indian street food. Reminded me of the food I ate back in India! Highly recommend trying as many dishes as you can, it’s some of the tastiest Indian food available in New York!
July 02 · Sahil KohliThis is such a cool place for indian street food! They have momo platter which comes woth three different flavors of momos which is the most perfect dish honestly! They also have butter chicken burger and tandoori chaap which were super tasty! Highly recommend this place!
July 28 · Akshita MehrotraLoved everything about this place. Cozy decor, great food and friendly service. We tried every flavor- makhani, Manchurian, afghani, schezwan, chilli garlic, achari. Also tried the malai chaap which was not great. Can do better with the flavors. Sauce was less and did not penetrate the chap. Makhani momos were my most favorite, creamy and fresh. Fried momos were very soggy and chewy. Can improve there.
March 28 · Arya PhatakWe got the assorted plate of steamed momos, chicken flavor. We got the Szechuan, plain, and butter and garlic. The counterstaff was nice enough to let us try one of each momo, paneer, veggie and chicken. Let me be clear this place is fusion, the staff were Bhutanese, food was a mix of Indian/Nepalese, ambiance was a hole in the wall with bright decor and neon signage. The place smelled like fry oil. The only thing different about the momos were the sauces. It was OK. Yay to support local ethnic businesses but the food did not hit home.
