July 16 · Gabriel RadfordI used to love coming here and have been a regular for years, so I'm genuinely disappointed to be writing this. Maybe it was just Memorial Day staffing, but the experience was awful. I came in with my 1-year-old daughter to order sandwiches, and the man at the counter was surprisingly rude. He told me it would be a 20-minute wait and insisted I pay upfront, which has never been the norm here.I went for a walk while we waited, then came back to pick up the food. He kept saying "it's coming, it's coming," but I noticed someone already sitting down eating exactly what we ordered. Clearly they gave our food to someone else. After waiting another 15 minutes, I heard him finally tell the kitchen to make our order again. Then I heard more confusion and realized they gave our replacement sandwiches to someone else too. At this point, it had been 40 extra minutes on top of the 20 initial, my daughter was upset, and I asked for a refund. Instead of honoring that, the man rushed back, grabbed the (finally correct) sandwiches, shoved them in a bag, and handed them to me to go.Really hoping this was a one-off with poor holiday staffing and not a sign of where things are headed.
June 01 · Mir MOExcellent chicken parm sandwich. Probably one of the best that I have ever tried. Will be going back there
July 10 · John BoctorSuch a cute atmosphere inside, with well-priced and well-portioned sandwiches. We got the chicken parm (bread was phenomenal, chicken delicious and not too oily, great proportion of cheese/sauce as well) and the Ricky which was unlike any other broccoli rabe sandwich I’ve had before (a huge pile of broccoli rabe cooked in a pan with the sausage, really soft semolina bread). The quality of ingredients is amazing, but the folks at Lil Frankie’s Grocery were the best. The chef checked in on us through the window while we were sitting outside and even gave us sodas, which made our day! John was also so hospitable and friendly, we loved chatting with him. Will definitely be back again to try every sandwich on the menu, and will need to come grab a late night grandma slice at some point!
November 26 · Jennifer ChangDisappointing experience at lil Frankie's grocery. I wanted the roast beef sandwich. First off, the bread is superb, Maybe I will come back and try a hot sandwich with no produce because this is what I received today: overly salty roast beef slices and an inedibly large slice of flavourless tomato. It also took forever to make which is crazy I was the only person there and it is a cold sandwich with four ingredients. Whoever is working either doesn't know what they're doing or doesn't care either way such a miss.
