### What is Worth Choosing
When you visit Peppa’s Jerk Chicken, the main event is, of course, the chicken. While one reviewer had an unfortunate experience with the side of plantains, they noted that the "jerk chicken and rice & peas were actually really good." The menu is straightforward and packed with classic Jamaican comfort dishes that are the perfect fuel for a busy day in the city. The **Jerk Chicken Meal**, which typically includes one piece of chicken over rice with a side, is a popular and reliable choice. Customers have the option to get the chicken “Jerk Chicken ONLY,” which is the chopped chicken leg quarters with your choice of sauce on the side. The jerk sauce is known for being spicy, but a BBQ sauce is available for those who prefer a milder flavor. The classic combination of **jerk chicken and rice & peas** is a must-try. Other popular main dishes include the tender **Oxtail Meal** and the hearty **Curry Goat Meal**. For a different take on the main dish, the **Jerk Chicken with Mac & Cheese** is a popular fusion of Caribbean and American comfort food. The menu also offers other non-chicken options like **Jerk Pork**, **Stew Chicken**, and **Escovitch Fish**. For side dishes, while the plantains may have been a one-off issue, the **Rice & Beans** and **Mac & Cheese** are often praised. The restaurant also offers other small plates, salads, and organic dishes, providing a variety of choices for everyone. The delicious and authentic flavors of the jerk chicken and the other main dishes are why Peppa’s has earned its reputation as a go-to spot for a taste of the Caribbean right here in New York City.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Tried going here but pretty disappointed. Dish was just chopped chicken and rice which meant a nightmare in sorting through the chopped bones and rice. I suggest Miss Lily’s if you want good Jamaican food. This was just… I think it should be given away to the homeless 😕Has soured my perception and general opine on Caribbean food 🫤
July 09 · TaylorThe only jerk chicken spot I feel confident in in Manhattan is Simply Natural Grill, but that dude only comes out in the Spring/Summer as he brings his grill out on the street and does God's work.I did my best to crowdsource a good jerk chicken rec from my Instagram story, and the overwhelming favorite was Peppa’s Jerk Chicken. We took the bus up to 28th street, and arrived at what felt like the promised land for a jerk chicken plate: Bob Marley on a Jamaican flag, tin wall panels spray painted with scenery of the homeland, employees slightly rude with thick Jamaican accents, etc.We both got jerk chicken plates with rice & peas and plantains. I was beyond hopeful to have a new year round jerk chicken spot. However, my hopes were stabbed in the heart when I took one bite of the plantains. These were legitimately the worst plantains I’ve ever had. I couldn’t even believe they served us these. The plastic fork couldn’t even penetrate the surface of the fried banana, they must have been sitting for DAYS. I wish they just told us they were out of plantains. The jerk chicken and rice & peas were actually really good, but plantain-gate just left a bad taste in my mouth.IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov__
April 10 · Johnny NovoI was surprised how good the food was. I had a basic stew chicken and rice and it was so good I had a craving a few days later and ordered it again. The wait on the line and the confusion while ordering is just the way how Jamaican restaurants work but the atmosphere in there is good, the art on the walls nice and the music is welcoming. This is a place you could suggest to your friends and be sure about it being good.
June 25 · Sanga WaldronI bought Curry goat August 1 enjoyed it Chef is 10 out of 10 right amount of salt and spice.. August 2 Oxtail and chicken food soup food is great. The Chef can really cook and the restaurant very clean.. I would recommend to anyone who need good fresh food to eat..❤️
August 02 · Annmarie MorrisonOrdered the jerk chicken with Mac. It was super flavorful. Although every bite was spice overload, this entree was marinated well. I'm not sure if the side dish was a fluke, but it had remnants of soul food during a Detroit Thanksgiving. The food was very rich and it literally took me 2 days finish what I ordered.
