Picnic Digital Food Court - Times Square Introduce
In the bustling landscape of Times Square, where innovation and efficiency are highly prized, Picnic Digital Food Court emerges as a modern solution to a common urban problem: what to eat when you can’t decide on just one thing. This unique concept brings the convenience of a digital ordering platform to a physical space, offering a variety of cuisines under one roof. Located at 245 W 46th St, it’s a trendy and casual spot that caters perfectly to the New York lifestyle, whether you're a local on a quick lunch break or a visitor looking for a convenient, high-tech dining experience.
The "digital food court" model is designed to streamline the dining process. Instead of navigating separate counters and menus, customers use a central digital system—likely kiosks or a mobile app—to place orders from various restaurants within the court. This innovative approach is a key highlight, as it allows for a quick and efficient meal, perfect for the fast-paced Times Square crowd. It’s also a great option for solo diners who appreciate a quick and hassle-free experience. The atmosphere is described as both "casual" and "trendy," suggesting a modern, stylish space that still feels comfortable and approachable.
Customer experiences, however, provide a balanced view of this innovative concept. One review enthusiastically praises the experience, highlighting one of the partner restaurants, Rollbl Sushi, as a "hidden gem" with the "best rolls in NYC." This customer's positive experience with fresh food and quick preparation showcases the potential of the digital food court model to deliver high-quality meals. This review also notes the convenience for both takeout and dine-in, as well as a positive interaction with the team, wishing them continued success.
On the other hand, a highly critical review sheds light on the challenges of this modern setup. The customer's experience with a delayed order, a lack of staff support, and a non-responsive customer service system points to the potential pitfalls of a fully digital model that minimizes human interaction. The review notes a "terrible and nonexistent customer service" and a "clumsy attempt to minimize operational costs." The issue escalated to a credit card dispute, highlighting a serious breakdown in the system. This kind of feedback is valuable for a local user, providing a realistic perspective on the risks and rewards of a tech-forward dining concept and emphasizing the need for robust support systems behind the scenes.
Despite these varied experiences, Picnic Digital Food Court aims to be a hub for a variety of tastes. The offerings include comfort food, quick bites, and coffee, and the dining options span breakfast, lunch, dinner, and dessert. This wide range of choices makes it a versatile destination that can satisfy different cravings at any time of day. Its appeal to "locals" and its general convenience suggest that it has found a niche within the Times Square community, serving those who appreciate a modern, multi-concept eatery.

March 25 · ANASTASIIA BABUSHKINATerrible and nonexistent customer service. The digital food court concept may be nice if it actually works - in this case, it appears to be a clumsy attempt to minimize operational costs. No staff at the window and no number to call if anything goes south. My order was delayed without warning and I never got my food because I couldn’t find anyone to help before I left. I tried to contact Picnics a few times for a refund and never heard back, not even a digital confirmation of receipt of my message. Everything just went to a black hole. What’s worse is that apparently they responded to my credit card company when I asked my credit card company to cancel this transaction - while completely ignoring my messages - and argued that I should pay for a delayed order that I never received. I was appalled. This business was perfectly aware of what happened and they still had the audacity to request that I pay. Just shameless.
July 02 · Xin NieThis restaurant was excellent. Our server displayed positive spirit when clarifying menu selections. This spot delivers excellence every time. You'll feel satisfied with their serving size. This place justifies its positive reputation.
August 06 · Harry ByrdSo I ordered some Mexican food via Door Dash and what I thought was a restaurant named Birria City. I go to pick up my order at a waiting area with a window, one service clerk (who was friendly), and no food. My order kept being delayed and it was almost an hour before I gave up on my four tacos. The clerk apologized and cancelled my order on his tablet. It was confirmed cancelled through Door Dash. I have no idea how this place works but I would avoid coming here if you're in a hurry or hungry. The only reason I gave two stars to this place is because the clerk was able to cancel my order.
July 06 · Adrian TorresFood here is a hit or miss. I’ve grown fond of a few spots and occasionally order lunch, though some options are pricey. However, one place I’ve ordered from regularly—Gotham Sandwich—has left a sour taste in my mouth recently.Typically, my order is ready about 10 minutes late, which I’ve tolerated. But on my last visit, I arrived 10 minutes after my scheduled pickup time to accommodate for their usual lateness and my food still wasn’t ready. I waited another 15–20 minutes and eventually asked the worker in the front to check on my order. After another 10 minutes, I was informed that no one was even in the kitchen.I ended up wasting over an hour of my time just to be told my food wasn’t being made at all. If there are no workers, why keep the store open? That said, the worker who assisted me was very kind. I appreciate that he took the time to check on my order, let me know what was going on so I didn’t wait even longer, and helped me cancel my order. While I’m grateful for his help, this situation was completely unacceptable. Please do better for the sake of your customers.
