Schmidt’s Sausage Haus Restaurant Reviews
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐I recently dined at Schmidt's Sausage Haus, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience! I tried the turkey Reuben, and it was absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and packed with flavor. The side of potato pancakes was phenomenal; they were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, truly a must-try!The beer selection was impressive, and I opted for a German light that complemented my meal beautifully. To top off my visit, I took a cream puff to go, which was a delightful treat! What really stood out was the fantastic interaction with the staff and fellow guests. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal. I can't wait to return for another round of those amazing dishes! Highly recommend!
Jun 28, 2025 · Kerri ForsytheExcellent food, excellent service, excellent atmosphere and entertainment! I’ve been wanting to visit Schmidt’s for a long time and when I visited Columbus recently, we made this our first night’s stop. Not only was our meal great but we also really enjoyed the atmosphere along with the gentlemen playing the tuba and accordion. Although the main course was delicious, the cream puffs were out of this world. So glad we stopped here and will definitely be back!
Jun 23, 2025 · Steve BI saw quite a few YouTube videos recommended German village and this German food restaurant. We ordered the sausage sampler plate, it has 4 types of sausage, I loved all of them. I also tried the pretzel nuggets and sauerkraut bratwurst balls out of curiosity. They are kind of similar with some Chinese food: fried vegetables&meat ball and fried bread. Very interesting. It’s worth a visit if you want to try German food.
Jul 02, 2025 · May ZhangExcellent German Fair. Many beers on tap. Love the dunkel. They also have resumed the buffet which is $25 and you can try a lot of things. Cabbage rolls are baller for sure.Definately worth a stop but you may want to reserve online as there sure can be a wait. Potatoe salad, stew and cream puffs are pretty rad. Apple struedal with ice cream is on point. They had live music when we went4.6/5
Jun 15, 2025 · Brent JohnsonThe atmosphere was lively and the place was full with many people waiting in line. The service was friendly and fast. I don’t eat pork so I did not have their famous sausages as even the beef ones have pork mixed with the beef. The server suggested two no pork dishes and I went with the breaded veal with mushroom burgundy gravy, and sides of red cabbage and potato pancakes with applesauce . I had a non alcoholic beer with the meal and for dessert their famous jumbo cream puff (vanilla). The only thing I really enjoyed was the beer ! I didn’t like the texture or the taste of the pastry shell and so I only ate the cream filling. The main dish was okay but not delicious. I guess I could not have what people come to this place for because of my dietary restrictions so it was not really the place for me.
