Yakiniku Toraji An Introduce
Welcome to Yakiniku Toraji An, a sophisticated and upmarket Japanese restaurant bringing the authentic experience of yakiniku to New York City. Located in the heart of Chinatown, this isn't your average dining spot. Yakiniku, which translates to "grilled meat," is the star of the show here, offering a unique and engaging culinary journey where you, the diner, become the chef. The restaurant provides an intimate and cozy atmosphere, making it a perfect destination for special occasions, a celebratory dinner, or a memorable night out with friends.
What sets Yakiniku Toraji An apart is its unwavering commitment to high-quality ingredients. The menu is a testament to this, featuring an impressive selection of premium cuts, including **A5 Japanese Wagyu**, known for its exceptional marbling and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. While you'll find classic Japanese dishes, the main focus is on the communal, self-grilling experience, where each table is equipped with its own grill. This allows you to cook your meat to your exact preference, creating a truly personalized meal.
Beyond the main event, the restaurant also offers a curated list of appetizers, soups, and other Japanese specialties. The ambiance is both trendy and upmarket, attracting a crowd of food enthusiasts, tourists, and groups looking for a unique and interactive dining experience. With its fast service and impeccable meat quality, Yakiniku Toraji An is a standout in New York's diverse restaurant scene.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1We had the mid tier omakase course.Relative to other omakase experiences we felt it was a bit lacking. The good: beef sushi was amazing. Kimchi was good. Service was great. The not so great:Starter salad had fried vegetables which was a strange and unnecessary addition. Meats were good quality but lacking in flavor despite server noting that it was already marinaded. You also had to grill it yourself unlike other places where the chef or server takes care of everything. Eel and rice dish had too much bean sprouts, mushrooms, and some kimchi which didn’t compliment the dish. I’ve never had eel over rice with an overwhelming sour profile. Dessert (almond pudding) was just okay - a little grainy rather than smooth.Bathrooms were clean and had bidets, which were nice.It is a decent casual yakinuku spot and I would return for lunch but personally wouldn’t splurge for omakase.
August 25 · Susan N.Meat so tender! If you eat a lot like me, this is probably not the place for you. 5 starts meat quality, portion is a little bit smaller. Great service and atmosphere. Great location😊
July 12 · Jay LiangReally nice restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. I went with my 7 year old son. We had fun grilling our own meal. The quality of ingredients here are remarkable. The standout for us was the beef tongue. Service was great.
April 06 · carlos borgesWe passed by many times and finally we had lunch here, the lunch menu was excellent. We loved all of them and enjoyed. Also the service was attentive and friendly, it’s such a good spot in Chinatown.
August 09 · Fab Fashion SkyThe food, amazing. The drinks, amazing. I have zero complaints. Very kind bartender and staff. The reason for my rating is because my fianceé was cold, due to the AC... but it was hot in NYC on this day. In my heart of hearts, I give this place 5 stars.BUT! They gave us warm tea and mochi ice cream on the house. Truly a 5 star place.
