Gemüt Biergarten Reviews
Great German spot in Old Town. Excellent selection of beers, radlers, wines and other beverages. Beers available for take-away.As good as the beverage choice are, the food choices are excellent as well. There is a brunch menu on Saturday that has some really delicious choices. Have to give a solid gotta-have-again the fried potatoes that they serve for brunch. I could have had just a heaping plate of those with some gravy on them (maybe a German poutine should be on the menu?). The wife said that her prosciutto toast was excellent - not sure myself, only got a crumb of bread from it.Good service, seating is beer hall style, and quite a bit of room in the place. Giant wall of mugs for regulars.
Jun 15, 2025 · Angelo SerraAmazing ambiance with a great German feel. Beer is great, staff is very friendly. Food is delicious. Biergarten is beautiful especially with good weather, but when it's colder they do have a tent up.As most people have mentioned, the stained glass is beautiful. The main possible downfall (for me personally) would be if you are into sports and want to go somewhere to watch a game, as there is only 1 TV. But lots of communal tables for socializing and playing games.
Apr 06, 2025 · Chelsea FuI'll update once I try the food. Went there and tried a flight. If you like more traditional beer, but with options for other items like radlers, I recommend. This is a brewery with a parking lot, a front small patio and a larger patio area in the back. It's an old firehouse with interior bench seating, stained glass and large windows. The stained glass windows behind the bar were designed by an unnamed artist, and created by Franklin Art Glass. I ordered from the bar, and there are also takeaway beers available in a cooler.Service was friendly and knowledgeable.I got a flight, dealer's choice. My favorite was the hefe weisbier - it has spice and depth, but was light and bitter. The 12 paladins was alright, but a bit disappointing as the description made it sound more flavorful than it presented to me - a bit bland. The lost shaker was surprising - it's a margarita flavored gose and it definitely rings through. I recommend if you like the sound of that although personally it wasnt my jams. The mugs on the wall are for a mug club they run which has certain perks for an annual fee.I recommend crediting the artist unless the artist requested otherwise (which is sometimes the case). It is absolutely beautiful work.Lastly, I did notice a snarky response from ownership to another review saying they "ain't reading all that", but mind you that our reviews are to inform other potential patrons; if you don't want to read it, no juvenile response needed.
May 20, 2025 · HSuch a great gem in the downtown area. Bartender was fantastic and the food was delicious! Great happy hour specials. They open at 4 but the place was pretty full by 430! Recommend the German pretzel!
Jul 13, 2025 · Ashley WrightReally loved this place. The preservation of the churches stained glass looks great. Atmosphere and overall appearance of the place is great. Lots of Getman food that is very tasty (the burger, not so much). Beirgarten is great. You order via QR code so their is not much in the way of service, but delicious food and beir make up for it.
