The Mercury Diner Reviews
My wife and I love to support local businesses. We looked up the restaurant recently and decided to take a trip to this establishment. So let me start off the positives. The potatoes were absolutely perfect. Seasoned and fried to a crispy perfection, the gravy also gets the high marks as I love good biscuits and gravy. Now, my biggest complaint was that the biscuit was cold and dry, and no amount of gravy could've saved it. Also, I never received my bacon that was placed with the order. We will return as the atmosphere is trendy and the staff is friendly. I will try something different next time.

Jun 14, 2025 · Joshua PhillipsI spent Easter weekend with Framily in Columbus. While there, I was lucky enough to reconnect with a friend I hadn't seen for about 16 years. After walking our dogs along the river, he took me Mercury Diner. What a phenomenal experience!! It was Easter morning (yes, I passed on church this year... Just wasn't feeling very churchy). Anyway, they of course were quite busy and invited us to sit at the bar until a table was ready. Kendall (I believe was her name) greeted us with great kindness, and I was happy to see they had a great selection of local craft beers. So I got my beer and my buddy got his coffee, but pretty much immediately, the host came and told us they had a cancellation so we got a table. We were very blessed to be seated in Ava's section. Ava is a very friendly charismatic soul in the masters social work program at OSU. I think that says a lot about her kind personality there. Anyway, after not having seen my dear friend for about 16 years, we were ready to settle in a bit. I always tell a server this just so they are prepared. We tried our best to tip well enough for the time we spent, however, Ava didn't care in the least. She welcomed us with open arms and made sure we knew that there was absolutely no rush. I'm actually in the hospitality industry and there is a difference in just having a good meal and drinks at a place. Rather, my mantra is that I want people to leave with a wonderful experience. Ava definitely had this mentality, and she was an absolute pleasure. We were able to have just the morning we were hoping. We sat and talked and talked while Ava checked on us from time to time, but, again, she warmly gave us all the time we wanted and needed to reconnect. Her service was impeccable, and the food...outstanding! I went with what seems to be a favorite and here is the description from the menu.Hermes' Loaded HashDon’t shoot the messenger! Feed him our signature hash loaded with seasoned home fries, sautéed peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, fresh chives, dill, and parsley and topped with two over easy eggs and avocado slices. That combination was so delicious and savory! I love breakfast and this topped off our incredible experience (my first) at Mercury Diner. I would definitely try the Hermes, and I would also request Ava as a server if you want to complete your experience for a perfect 10.Thanks Ava (and the rest of the Mercury Diner fam).
Apr 25, 2025 · Dog DudeI had to delete my previous review because my thoughts have changed about this place I have been here over a month ago and it was great despite their bad reviews I went back a second time I think the weekend after and it was still just great but when I took my husband on the third time because I was bragging about how great it was.... It was not great at all Even the service was bad. In the photos you'll see the second time I went where the food was beautifully done a nice salad and a grilled cheese was delicious I took home the same sandwich that I got the third time in my take home sandwich was even better than what I got served in the restaurant the third time. I got a double melt sandwich and it was so big and delicious I couldn't eat it all but what I got when I dined in I couldn't even eat I had to send it back as you'll see from the pictures the bud was turned inside out and placed on the sandwich The meat was paper thin and kind of torn up and kind of just thrown on the bun, some of it was on the plate wasn't even in the sandwich so for that reason I have to change my rating. The food was bad. Even my husband was not impressed with anything. Our waitress was not good either she had a bit of an attitude yet we still tipped her, just very unfortunate this time. The biscuits and gravy looked sloppy and tasted weird. My kids got chocolate pancake and all of the chocolate was in middle of pancake.
Mar 05, 2025 · Tonya BrooksMercury Diner: A Retro Diner with a Boho SoulWe came. We saw. We ate until we questioned our life choices (in the best way).First up: Spaceballs. Not the movie...though equally legendary. These little sugar-dusted banana fritters are what happens when dessert and deep-fried glory collide in orbit. Dunk them in peanut butter fudge sauce or strawberry dip and prepare for lift-off. Warning: You will consider licking the plate. We did. No regrets. Then came the Chicken N’ Pancake...aka one giant, buttery buttermilk pancake that’s bigger than your head. No exaggeration. NASA could use it as a landing pad. On top? Crispy fried chicken breast drenched in hot honey butter, with maple syrup on standby like a loyal wingman. Sweet. Savory. Spicy. It’s chaos, but the delicious kind. And just when we thought we’d seen it all...the Big Ol’ Pancake rolls in, now with fresh blueberries. Also head-sized. Soft, golden, and fluffy enough to be considered a mattress alternative. If you’ve ever wanted to eat brunch while questioning whether you’re dreaming, this is your moment.Mercury Diner is funky, fabulous, and fully committed to feeding your inner child and outer foodie. Come hungry, leave needing a wheelbarrow.
