The local food scene in Columbus is incredibly diverse, and Koco Asian Foods adds to this by offering a fast-service take on popular Asian dishes. Its menu features a range of options, from classic Chinese American staples like General Tso's Chicken and Fried Rice to other Asian-inspired entrees. Understanding the context of its location is key; as a food court vendor, its business model is built around speed and convenience for a high-traffic environment. This article will provide you with a detailed look at its services, key features, and contact information, ensuring you have all the necessary details to form your own opinion and plan a visit, whether you're at the hospital or simply in the neighborhood.
The location and accessibility of Koco Asian Foods are defining aspects of the business. It is located at 700 Children's Dr, Columbus, OH 43205, USA, specifically within the Food Court on the lower level of Nationwide Children's Hospital. This means its primary clientele is often tied to the hospital itself—staff, families, and visitors. For these individuals, Koco Asian Foods offers a convenient and accessible dining option without having to leave the premises.
For local Ohio residents not associated with the hospital, its location requires a bit more intentional planning. Accessing the hospital's food court is typically straightforward, with designated parking areas for visitors. The surrounding area of Columbus is well-connected by city streets and public transportation, making it possible for locals to visit the restaurant. However, it's important to be aware that the environment is that of a hospital food court, which may differ from a traditional standalone restaurant. The convenience of its location is a major selling point for those already at the hospital, providing a much-needed option for a quick and satisfying meal in a specific, high-stress setting.
Koco Asian Foods offers a straightforward and efficient service model, tailored for a fast-paced environment like a hospital food court.
- Fast-Service Dining: The restaurant operates on a fast-service model, meaning orders are prepared and served quickly. This is ideal for hospital staff on a limited lunch break or families who need a fast meal between appointments.
- Carry-Out: As a food court establishment, carry-out is a primary service. Customers can easily order their food to go, allowing them to eat in the hospital or take it with them.
- Diverse Menu Options: Koco Asian Foods offers a varied menu of fresh and tasty choices, including Chinese American classics, which can be a welcome sight in a more institutional setting.
- Catering to Dietary Needs: The establishment mentions that it offers vegetarian and gluten-free entrees, providing options for a wider range of customers with specific dietary requirements.
The features and highlights of Koco Asian Foods are best understood by considering its unique context as a food court eatery. These points, taken from public feedback, illustrate its strengths and weaknesses.
- Convenience and Speed: The primary highlight is its convenience for those already at Nationwide Children's Hospital. For this audience, it's a go-to spot for an "edible" and "fast" meal, especially when other options may be limited.
- Mixed Reviews on Food Quality: The food quality is a point of contention among reviewers. Some describe it as the "only edible food in this entire hospital," highlighting its relative quality within that specific environment. However, others have had negative experiences, mentioning issues such as "fried rice which was not fried at all" and "fried chicken which was soaked in oil." This suggests a potential inconsistency in preparation.
- Price Perception: The pricing has also drawn mixed feedback. A customer noted being charged "$17 for fried rice," which they considered to be expensive for the quality received. This perspective is important for locals to consider, as the cost might be higher than what one would expect from a typical Chinese takeout spot outside of a hospital setting.
- Friendly Service: The business promotes itself on offering "fast, friendly service," which is a positive attribute in any dining experience, especially in a hospital environment.
- Fresh Ingredients: Koco Asian Foods prides itself on using the "freshest ingredients you will find," a claim that speaks to a commitment to quality, regardless of the mixed feedback on the final product.

It is an excellent option for those already within the Nationwide Children's Hospital campus who are in need of a quick and relatively satisfying meal, particularly when compared to other potential food court options. The convenience, speed, and variety of its menu are its greatest assets for this specific audience. Koco Asian foods Reviews
Not sure what the other reviews are complaining about, this place makes the only edible food in this entire hospital.
Jun 16, 2025 · J JPeople don't understand that even though it may be an ok-regular food for a hospital, if you give them a high review for hospital food it will go high everywhere else. I came here thinking it was an ok place, but they charged me 17 for fried rice which was not fried at all, and fried chicken which was soaked in oil. For me is a NO place, never coming back again. Please be mindful with your reviews.
Jan 13, 2025 · Eduardo Macle CorderoI wouldn't go out of my way to eat here, but if you need a hot meal at the hospital it's absolutely fine. Hot and fresh, and the vegetables in my meals were very nicely cooked.
Apr 21, 2023 · Katherine AndersonFood is average but provides a different option if at hospital long term. Service is unfriendly and boarder line rude at times. This service level has been observed multiple times at this location. At a children’s hospital it would be nice to see a smile and be greeted with a “hello, how can I help you” or “thank you for your business”.
Sep 17, 2023 · Judy FisherThe guy who works the counter is very rude. I have experienced this twice and I have heard him talking rudely to others.
