Hit-or-Miss Event Pizza – But I'd Give Them Another Shot!Recently had Donatos pizza at an event, so this isn't a dine-in review, but here's the lowdown on a few of their pies.First off, the Hawaiian was actually pretty decent. And yeah, I'm one of those people who likes pineapple on pizza, so it worked for me. The pepperoni, however, was just... eh. Nothing to write home about, easily forgettable.The biggest miss for me was the Buffalo chicken – it swung way too far into salty territory. Like, grab-a-gallon-of-water salty. Definitely not my favorite slice of the night.Given the mixed bag, I'm still curious enough to try Donatos again, but I'd absolutely be ordering different things next time. There's potential, especially if you find the right combo!

This Donatos has improved over the past couple of years. Me and my family order here at least four or five times among however on occasion we still get our orders screwed up either the driver forget something or it's more than an hour long wait. Also sometimes we've even received our food undercooked or overcooked. I gave four stars because they have dramatically improved in the past three years my first writing was a one-star.

I am sorry to have to write a negative review, especially when I've been ordering from the Oakland Park location for many years. However for the past year or more, the service has been extremely sub par. Perhaps some of that is due to the automated ordering since you don't speak with the location preparing and delivering the food, but I've had bad results even on the rare occasions I do speak to the location on Oakland Park.For example, last night I ordered a large pepperoni pizza, two salads, bread sticks and cookies. The automated service put me thru to an actual person probably because I didn't want cranberries on my salad. The woman didn't work at Oakland Park. She took my order. I confirmed with her three separate times regarding the cranberries and she assured me she understood and that she put that on the order to the store. I asked for plates, napkins and utensils for the meal and she assured me that was part of the order. Then she asked if I wanted extra cheese on the pepperoni pizza and I said that would be fine.When the order arrived, I noticed there were no plates, etc, and I asked the driver if he had those. He was very friendly but he didn't speak English so he couldn't tell me. He just kept holding his phone up to me until I figured out he wanted me to speak into the phone so he could translate what I was saying, which I did. He then was able to speak back into the phone and hold it up to me so I could read that the store didn't give him any plates, etc. So I let that go and used my own plates.When I got inside and opened the pizza box, what very little pepperoni there was (you could barely see any) was underneath the cheese so it looked and tasted like a cheese pizza when I ordered and paid for pepperoni. I've had extra cheese on pepperoni pizzas before and the cheese was always underneath the pepperoni and the pepperoni was plentiful. I let that go as well.When I opened my salad, it was full of cranberries. Way too many to pick out especially when I was assured three times that there would be no cranberries.I called Donatos and actually was put thru to the Oakland Park venue. I explained what happened and a very nice and understanding woman said they would bring the correct salad in 15 minutes. I also had a credit on my account for an Italian sub so she said they would send that along as well. I asked for a plain sub with only salami, cheese and dressing. Due to past experiences with Donatos, I confirmed that several times along with my address, which they had just delivered to.They delivered the replacement food to the wrong house. Luckily it was my mom's house, but she had to drive the food over to me. The sub had everything on it instead of the way I ordered it. Plus the reason I had the credit was because the last time I ordered for a game party, I also requested my sub the same way. That time the sub arrived with only a burned sub bun and two small pieces of cold salami. No cheese and no dressing plus whomever delivered the large order including pizzas, subs and cookies, threw it on the front porch and left without knocking or ringing the door bell. We only knew it was delivered because I got a text saying so. We thought the text was a mistake and were shocked to find our food laying on the porch.I've placed several very large and expensive orders for family gatherings in the past. I no longer feel confident we'll get what we ordered and I no longer want to go thru the hassle of constantly calling back when the orders are incorrect and STILL receiving incorrect replacement orders while paying a lot of money for the privilege and keeping guests waiting for the right food to arrive. It's super frustrating.I hope you can work with your staff to provide at least average customer service. It may be too late for me to continue as a customer, but could help keep and attract others.Thank you for the opportunity to be heard.

Order a medium pepperoni, and it arrived, and it was a beautiful pie. Then, take a couple of bites, and it tasted of raw dough. I figured it's because I am sick, so I put it away . Today, I put it in the oven to warm it. Same taste. Put it back to bake it out some. Same raw dough taste. $24 dollars of disappointment. The lesson learned is that Donatos is for thin crust only.
